My room had cockroaches. The bathroom was very disgusting, you'd have to wear some flip flops in there. The shower was okay. Sinks looked like they were new. Service was nice though, the cleaning ladies were very nice to me and my son. They offer Cont. Breakfast but it was nothing really good. Some cold boiled eggs, stale cereal, do it yourself waffles, yogurt and coffee.
The hotel is located behind a ghetto gas station. The owners children actually stand outside at night trying to sell you bootleg movies LOL.

Its an old run down dirty hotel. Its the worst La Quinta that I have ever stayed in. I could have done a whole lot better for my 83 dollars.

We needed to use the internet and that's why we booked a room here during a camping vacation. But despite many calls and conversations with the desk and the computer help line, we never got online.
Other reviewers are right about towels being less than plentiful at this hotel.
The other LaQuinta we've stayed in had clean tile floors in the halls, but this one had carpeting. The atmosphere left us with a stuffy feeling in the morning.

When arriving at this hotel, the front desk clerk was loud (but friendly). She was talking to other co-workers who were not on duty. She also found the need to try and get personal with me. Asking if I was there to see my boyfriend graduate. After being informed that there was a army base near by, I informed her that I was here on other business.
Arriving in the room which was located directly next to the elevator, I observed upon entering the room, that there was someones old socks under the dresser. I then proceeded to the bathroom, were I notice that there was hair in the tub. WHICH WAS A SURE SIGN NOT TO USE THE TUB !!!!
As the night proceeded, I got a knock on the door. I looked out the peep hole and there was a young lady who presented herself as "security"; she didn't have on an uniform. Thank God, I talked to her through the door. She stated that she had been getting compliants about noise from my room. BUT I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN MY ROOM!!!!!!
About two hours later the 3rd floor ice machine started beating against the wall. (Note: I'm on the 2nd floor. ). I call down stairs and ask what the noise was, and they inform me that it is the ice machine. I ask if it will stop or if it's anything they can do: the man at the front desk replies: ONLY IF PEOPLE STOP USING IT!!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

A review written a year ago, Sept 06, talks about a major renovation coming soon but Sept 07 finds La Quinta an older hotel still in need of a face lift. This and the many other hotels in the area benefit from the weekly basic training graduations at nearby (four miles) Ft Jackson which bring a constant stream of families for the ceremonies. Don't show up on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday without a reservation; you'll likely be disappointed.
The flip side is that the hotel does good business all year long and could probably afford the upgrade it needs but to do so would necessarily interrupt some of the revenue flow that seems to come regardless.
The carpet is stained and lumpy; the hallways are kind of shabby. My bathroom is clean but antiquated none the less. The modern hotel room needs lots of electrical outlets for all our modern stuff, not a powerbar so taunt with cords for the tv, lamp, microwave and mini-fridge that it dangles in the air. And so forth.
The bed is just right. The train honked in the night once that I heard and I liked it. The breakfast is pretty OK and the staff have been nice to me. As far as I can tell, the room price is pretty reflective of what you get in the area. Want something more up to date, be prepared to pay more. La Quinta needs help but is serviceable.
