We made reservations 2 weeks prior of a soccer tournament in Jackson. We were suppose to get a non smoking room but when we walked in, there was no doubt it was a smoking room. Not only was the smell horrendous but it was just plain nasty. They did find us another hotel because they did not have any other rooms available. Upon leaving the hotel, another family was on the way out because of the same thing. We know of 6 other families who told us they also had problems with their rooms. I would sleep in the car before I made reservations here again!

This hotel was not the cleanest or nicest for the money. The lobby smelled like BO and the breakfast was cramped and messy. We switched out of our first room because there was an army of ants in it. The second room was cleaner, but it seemed very old. We didn't have any real problems, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Being a La Quinta fan, I was a little concerned about some of the previous reviews on this place. However, I am glad to report that my experience at this hotel was quite nice. Bright, clean rooms ... very good customer service and personnel at the front desk ... ice cold air conditioning ... good soundproof rooms that diminished the thunderstorm that rolled through in the early morning hours.
Yes, the "high speed" Internet is slow and may be a source of frustration but it's not so bad that it will ruin your experience.
I'd stay here again, no question.

Smokey hallways, s-l-o-w internet

Like many budget hotels, Baymont Inn could use better air ventilation in the hallways, which reek of cigarette smoke. However, the room I got was clean and had a comfortable bed and desk chair.
My main complaint is the slowness of the "high-speed" wireless internet service. (False advertising?) I gave up and got faster results using dial-up!
The front desk staff were very courteous and went out of their way to try to get me a good room, but they couldn't do anything about these problems.

I recently stayed at the Baymont while in town for a workshop. The rooms were clean, it was quiet and peaceful and the hotel staff was excellent.
Only complaints -- while the breakfast selection wasn't the worst, it could be better and the parking lot needs paving badly!
Major plus -- excellent Wi-Fi -- no problems getting internet access unlike another prominent hotel in Jackson
