Darned near perfect! I loved the Langham and only wish I could have stayed longer. Location is very convenient and central. The staff was absolutely efficient and capable. I loved how the mirror in the bathroom featured a square in the middle that didn’t fog up after a shower.
After a long trip it was wonderful to enter the plush room, beautifully furnished, soft music on the iPod clock, fresh bathrobe, slippers and turn-down chocolates at hand. They were good about keeping my late check-in (nearly midnight) and I appreciated that check-out was a leisurely 1:00 pm.
My only teensy-tiny complaint was that I never did figure out how to open my room’s angled window curtains.

I booked two nights in this place during 4th of July weekend and could not wait to get away. In a world where hotels are all beginning to look the same the end difference is the service and how one is treated. This is where the Langham fails miserably.
Lets get the good out of the way first...clean rooms, nice room styling, well equipped gym and pool (small) and in middle of financial district.
On the negative side...room was tiny, minbar was v v overpriced even for a four star hotel. But the cherry on the cake must be the staff.
I was met a the door by a rude and abrupt consierge who ordered me to "hurry up" when I checked in case I left my car too long in front of hotel. Same gentleman decided not to hold the door open when we dragged our luggage through the hotel to reception.
We decided to ask at the consierge desk for advice on where we could find a restaurant...sum total of their help was a map and "we are here" pointed at the map. Thanks.
Floor staff were more like accusing bouncers looking for a reason to have a power trip rather than helpful courteous staff.
With an early flight I rang down to reception for a taxi only to be told abruptly that there was a taxi rank outside the hotel and I "should be able to call it myself". Thanks again.
Whole hotel needs a crash course in common courtesy. If a hotel claims to be 4 star it needs to act like it all over. No point in promoting an old world hotel charm (which they clearly dont have ) having arrogant bully boy staff on the floor incapable of smiling or being courteous unless you slip them a $5 tip!

Not for travellers!

The website told that the hotel was perfectly located in "downtown Boston", instead I found out that it was in the heart of the financial district, only surrounded by high buildings filled with offices and banks, in a nest of small roads and very difficoult to find each time I walked back to it.
Aside from that, the Hotel itself was filled with buisnessmen, so at the Caf? Fleuri, the refined restaurant, it turned out to be that I was infact seated at the worse table, not being rated as an A costumer, wearing my shorts and sandals, instead of executive dresses.
Also the reception was rather uptight and seemed not easy with the fact that I was travelling alone.
It all seemed very unconfortable to me, considering that from the website this Hotel seemed to be the perfect place to stay as a tourist for a pleasant visit to Boston.
Good hotel, great location, but getting tired

For such a great city, I'm surprised that Boston doesn't have any world beating hotels.
However, it does have a couple of very good hotels and the Langham is one of them.
It's in a great location for both business and pleasure, with all of the key attractions within walking distance.
The staff are good (particularly the concierge), but the hotel itself is starting to tire a little. The rooms need a spruce up and the bathrooms are ready for replacement.
Surprisingly, for a hotel that is primarily positioned for the corporate market, the "business centre" is housed in the gift shop and has only one pc.
They're not automatically geared up for kids, but they did step up to the plate.
Worth staying here for a good experience, but don't expect greatness.
