Just got back yesterday, stayed from 7/17-7/21
First of all, the positives.
The view and the property are both to die for. The hotel sits directly on the beach and is gorgeous and modern. LOVED it. We had a swim up room-HUGE and totally worth it. It was awesome and top notch. Comfy furniture everywhere-beds are unreal comfortable. Very small, intimate and upscale.
Negatives:
Service/Food. Not so good, considering the cost.
Examples:
Same SMALL menu for three nights in a row. Food is better than average for an all inclusive but NOT great. AND....my husband got VERY VERY sick for a full 12 hours on what? We cannot figure it out. Blech.
Took three HOURS to have dinner one night. It took the waiter 30 minutes to get our drink order. SO SO slow.
I had to call room service three times to get bottled water sent to our room. They also did not have a few items available from the room service menu.
Pool service was not regular. Beach service non-existent.
I will say I am super picky but I expected a bit more I suppose. I certainly did not think my husband would get SICK there.
This place could be fabulous but needs work...but evern with these issues it still doesn't have that all inclusive 'herd the cattle' feel.
Nice but NOT quite five star.

My wife Carmen and I just stay at Aura from July 5th to the 12th and had the most wonderful time.
Management, front desk, waiters, bartenders, housekeeping, and the activity director were all great.
The food was the best and the presentation was unbeliveable. The Chef out did himself every night. The resturant next door at Sabor was great also. The food and staff was very nice. We had a great time at the Disco but it was only opened two nights that we were there. The roof top jacuzzi's were not used alot but we did use them and they were nice. The gym was well equiped also.
We had a room with a private pool and it was great but during the day the swim up rooms looked a little better. I think the next time we go back we will get a swim up. This is an Adult Only resort, we love kids just not on our vacation. The people that we met there were real special and we will stay in touch with them.
We explored the Island of Cozumel and that was a real treat. The town is clean and lots of shopping. The ferry to the mainland is fast and we enjoyed returning to Playa Del Carmen. The Ruins is a must see. We did a tour and it was very nice.
Any one that goes to this resort and does not have a wonderful time then there is something wrong with them. You can do as much or as little as you want at the resort. I would recommend it highly.
Thanks to Carlos and Raul and the entire Staff for making our stay a Wonderful Week.
Edd and Carmen

My boyfriend and I just returned to Cozumel this year to go scuba diving. I went for my first time last year and he has been to the island several times over the past 15 years. This hotel is hands down the best place to stay if you are looking for a 4 star experience, adult only, inclusive. Not only was the exterior and interior structure of the hotel beautiful but the people who work there were wonderful, accomodating and couldn't be nicer. The food was excellent, 24 hour room service, plenty of choices at the restaurants, and friendly service. If you are a scuba diver the location was perfect as we were able to get picked up at the dock everyday for our dives. The staff took very good care of us and were able to assist in our every need. If you are going to Cozumel, this is where you need to stay! We will definitely be back next year.
