My boyfriend and I went to the Glengate over Labor Day weekend, a very busy weekend in Niagra Falls. The staff was not only friendly but helpful with any questions we had. The walk to the new casino (the shuttle is no longer in service, but not posted on the web-site) was a short ten minutes, nothing for anyone who can enjoy an evening stroll. It was about four blocks away on a well lit busy thouroghfares' sidewalk: perfectly safe.
The continental breakfast was o.k. Bagels and muffins and toast, but it was plenty to get us by until lunch.
The best thing about the Glengate was that we were going to be seeing all of Niagra Falls the following day and we did not know where we could park our car. After we checked out we asked the man behind the desk where we could park for free and he allowed us to leave our car in the underground parking lot until we were ready to leave. The kindness of the staff would alone make me want to stay at this hotel again.

We booked a jucuzzi suite for our one year wedding anniversary and were excited when we arrived. The staff at the counter were friendly but right from the get go had trouble checking us in. The staff didnt know how to work the debit machine and so we stood and waited for 15mins before she decided to let us go drop our things off in the room and come back and try again.
The room was great. Huge king size bed and beautiful heart shaped jacuzzi tub surrounded by glass and lit by red lights. The room was also very clean. Unfortunatly, the "premium cable" they promised us was there. We got 6 channels total! It was horrible. Another problem with the room is the windows didnt open! You are unable to get fresh air, and with all the humidity from the jacuzzi tub the room smelt quite funky after awhile.
The hotel boasts about its free breakfast but they only offer it until 10am and you have to go to a main room to eat it. 10am may be great for some people, but when im on vacation i enjoy sleeping in a little.
For those who miss the breakfast, there is a great breakfast buffet restaurant a block down the street with all you can eat until 2pm. IT was great.
Maid service was excellent. Gave all fresh towels and took away the garbage and made the bed and also sprayed some smelly stuff so you dont notice the funky smell (until you use the jacuzzi again.)
The parking is terrible. All these other reviews arent lying. Underground was a nightmare, dont even try it! Above ground wasnt so bad if you are able to find a parking spot.
While flipping through the hotel anemities book in my room they boast about how they ARE pet friendly, but on the phone and in person they insist that they are NOT. It must have changed recently and they can't afford to reprint that page of the books.
I thought the location of the hotel was excellent. Its right off the highway as we were coming into Niagara and its not very far from all the attractions and the falls. Not walking distance, but close enough that its only a short short drive. Easy to find.
All in all, I would stay here again. The room and location really worked for me. And the price wasnt that bad. Hopefully your room will have the cable working and windows that actually open!

Picked this hotel because of three factors:
1) Supposedly .4 miles from everything
2) Boasted how it is BRAND NEW
3) Very reasonable rate.
If you could flap your wings and fly, this hotel MIGHT be .4 miles from everything in a STRAIGHT LINE. Walking to the falls would take near a half hour through an unpleasant trashy area.
Brand new yes, but if you jump up and down on the floor it sounds like you will crash right through!! No alarm clock in room, all building materials seem to be the cheapest they could find.
Hence, the reasonable rate. I paid $100+ through Orbitz. I will no longer EVER trust Orbitz to put me in a quality hotel. After numerous phone calls to Orbitz after checking into the Glengate, I realized I would have to EAT the $100+ I spent for this pathetic room and find another hotel.
Luckily the Travelodge had exactly what I wanted - center of the strip, 5 minute walk to the falls, and a clean, comfy room. And if you like Karaoke, this is the place for you!!! What a great time we wound up having anyways, even after the GLENGATE COMPLETELY SCREWED US!!!

I made my reservation here because all the sites (including this one) said they were pet friendly. When I got there, turned out to be wrong. They had changed 3 months ago according to the clerk.

We chose this hotel because it sounded good, and it was reasonably priced. When we got there we found not a 3-star hotel (as we had been expecting), but something much closer to a motel, with extremely limited parking (the 'underground garage' was an unfinished basement with barely enough room for a compact to turn around in), an unfilled outdoor pool, a clean but extremely spartan room (no alarm clock, for example), incompetent staff, a muffins-only breakfast which was crowded and noisy. We also stayed at the end of a hall which, each morning, had a bag of garbage sitting there to greet us. Ugh. WHAT a disappointment. In a town chocker-block of hotels and motels, you can definitely do better.
