The pictures must have been taken when the hotel opened.
First of all, when we arrived to check in, there was no one who knew how to prepare the keys. They had to let us in with the master. They gave us the wrong room at first. We had requested the family room (as there were 5 of us) and were given a smoking double with two beds that stunk so badly I don't even think a smoker could have dealt with it. The nails sticking out of the headboard were a nice touch, too.
After well over a half an hour, they provided us with the room type we had reserved. This room was as much of a dump as the rest of the hotel. The curtains didn't close all the way, there was a dead beetle carapace on the carpet, mildew on the pillow, bad stains on the sofa bed mattress and there were holes in the sheets. They should have made up the sofa bed. We wouldn't have noticed how disgusting the mattress was.
Unfortunately, I booked this dive on the internet so I would have had to pay the room rental even if I had decided not to stay. Despite that fact, we almost left and cut our losses.
Definite lesson learned.
You get what you pay for. Yechhh.

we were looking for an inexpensive, but clean and safe motel, for our 4 day trip, to Niagara Falls, and thats what we got. Appearances from outside looked very well kept, with landscaping all neatly maintained. There were 2 outside grills, under a picnic area, a decent sized swimming pool, with a small play area for kids.
The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and spacious. the beds were made every day, and the towels replaced daily. Its your standard "motel decor", but if its clean and safe your looking for, then you cant go wrong. the owners were very nice, and helpful too.
the motel is situated on lundys lane, set back from all the hustle and bustle, but still conveniently located. There are lots of shops nearby, if your looking for souveniers, within walking distance to the designer outlets. There is also a walmart closeby.

Room was supposedly "Jacuzzi Suite" -ants EVERYWHERE, no air, bad electrical (lighting did not stay on), and we found a woman's top shoved under the sheet covering the mattress. I was deeply disappointed in my stay and will never stay with them again.

The Advantage Inn is your basic old-timey motor inn style motel that were the norm in the 70's and 80's. In the Lundys Lane area, there are plenty of this style of motel around. From what we had seen as we drove in, I'd consider the Advantage Inn in the middle of the pack in regards to appearance when compared to similar motor inn's in the Lundys Lane location.
We were a little nervous after reading the reviews here, but needed a room in the Niagara area in a pinch and they had vacancies, so we took a chance. It was the cheapest place I could find on Expedia with avail. rooms for a Saturday night and within 48 hours of check-in.
Distance to the falls looks to be about 3 miles. We didnt use the shuttle service since we parked at the falls.
We stayed in a non-smoking/king room. The room was clean with recently replaced carpet. The bathroom was clean and looked to be recently remodeled, with fresh tile on the floors and walls. The room contained a 3 drawer dresser, a desk with chair, a round table with two chairs, and a fridge that was clean, but strangely unplugged(we didnt use it so we never plugged it in).
A small TV sat on the dresser..... probably a 20 in. set. I'd prefer a bigger TV, and a more organized channel line-up. There were around 25 channels available, but they were spread out throughout the channel range and there was no channel list that I could find. Fortunately I found what I wanted to watch(hockey game on CBC) so I was happy. ;-)
The king size bed was firm, and all bedding was clean. There were three pillows that were a little on the thin side, but acceptable.
The AC/heating unit was in bad shape..... the temps were in the mid 70's on the day of our stay and we ran the AC. It did little to cool the room, and was EXTREMELY noisy. So much so that we couldnt sleep with it on. So we cut it off, but heard someone snoring in the room next to us so back on it went. Needless to say, we didnt get much sleep.
If the AC unit would have been in better shape, we would have raised the grade from a 2 to 3.
