This was my second stay at the Hotel De San Miguel and again, it was a wonderful experience! The hotel is quaint and quiet with a staff that really goes out of their way to ensure comfort and cleanliness. We were so impressed with the new upgrades that have been added since my last stay and my traveling partner fell in love with the wonderful decorations and Hacienda style of the hotel.
The staff was incredibly helpful and suggested great places to dine and gave us directions to some of the places we wanted to visit. Both "Ava's" were wonderful and the third female staff member (who's name I have unfortunetly forgotten,) we there for what ever we needed. The hotel is quiet, beautiful, quite reasonable and the garden was spectacular! They even have a night time security guard which was an added plus.
I can't recommend a better place to stay if you are considering a visit to the beautiful island of Cozumel.
Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!

great hotel. very very spacious rooms. my friend and i stayed in the "jacaranda" room... 2 levels, one twin bed downstairs with a kitchen, tv, dining table, and half bath, and 2 double beds and a full bath upstairs. beautiful courtyard. breakfast rolls always show up warm and scrumptious.
but the best thing about our stay here was all the help we got from the staff, especially antonio. he gave us snorkeling tips, directions to get around, etc.
also, a stay here comes with a free 15-min horseback riding at mr. sancho's. my friend and i took full advantage and we got a guide who gave us what came close to a 30-min horseback tour of the surrounding woods and beach.
really great deal!

My husband, Myself, and two of our closest friends stayed 7 days at Hacienda San Miguel in Cozumel. The trip was fabulous. From the minute we checked into the Hacienda, we were treated like family. Antonio brought us fresh pastries from the local bakery, coffee, and orange juice every morning. Each night, Eva would ask us what time to have breakfast delivered. The courtyard was amazing. We ate most of our meals outside. Our rooms had indoor cooking and dining areas, but we fell in love with the courtyard. The staff was awesome. We highly, highly recommend Hacienda San Miguel. We are planning on returning to Cozumel, and to the Hacienda very soon, and repeatedly.

Our Lovely Christmas in Cozumel

Our family enjoyed a perfect vacation in Cozumel over Christmas 2007 at the Hacienda San Miguel. The room, on the 1st floor backing to a small alleyway, was quite comfortable and clean. One nice touch each day by Maria in housekeeping was the remaking of the baby's crib with his toys and blanket arranged. Antonio and Martin, as well as their female counterpart, were welcoming, knowledgeable and very friendly to our entire family. Someone was always in the office, which was right inside the gateway, to welcome you back and to see you off for the day. Christmas Eve there was a champagne reception in the beautiful courtyard for all the quests and they invited our adult son who was staying in a nearby hotel. Our first morning there they brought out a little rocking horse for our soon-to-be 2 year-old and each morning he looked forward to going to the courtyard for his "ride". We don't usually spend the Holidays away from home, but this may become an alternate tradition. We did not want a resort experience but to experience Christmas in a different culture and at a slower pace. It fulfilled those wishes and more. The staff was able to give us information on Christmas Eve mass and to make reservations for us in restaurants that I had researched as well as giving us their feedback and recommendations. We had rented a car to explore the island and windward beaches and had no trouble parking on the street in front of the Hacienda's entrance. There was road construction going on (and we were told it would continue for another few weeks) to improve the sidewalks and street but we were not disturbed by this and our 2-year-old was delighted to see all the equipment and men in manholes as he was coming and going. The main avenue, parallel to the sea, is less than a half-block from the entrance and provides a safe, easy walk to the museum, shops, restaurants and main plaza. We didn't realize that we could have booked tours through the hotel but will look into that on our next visit. The kitchen was very clean and the refrigerator quite fresh-smelling. Fresh drinking water was in abundant supply and the room temperature was easy to regulate. I wish we had looked at some of the other layouts on the upper level to compare for our next visit but were quite pleased with our room. We will definitely stay again and feel then that we have “come home”.
