We just stayed here for one night after travelling round the outback for the previous 5 nights and it was wonderful to have lovely white cotton sheets and modern decor - I slept really well. We had a studio room which was fine for one night, though a one-bedroom unit might be better for longer stays. The kitchenette was a little cramped as everything - kettle, toaster, electric frying pan, iron (all supplied) had to be plugged into the power points over the draining board. The only sockets reachable from the large table had the TV and DVD player plugged into them.
There is a terrace outside the room but only one chair and no table. The studio room had a combination oven but no hob. There is a supermarket directly opposite
The hotel is surrounded by a fence and has security gates so I don't know if that means it is a high crime area, but we didn't see any trouble, and enjoyed an evening walk along the foreshore and round the town, following the historic trail, with information boards.

We stayed at the Oasis over the Australia Day Long Weekend.
The room was great, view great, pool great, staff great.
We were able to have the doors open and had no trouble from rowdy locals, in fact everyone was happy and polite.
No buzzing electrics to keep us from sleeping. Internet access is capped at $28.00 for a 24 hour period. We also found there to be enough tv channels, but we didn't go to watch the tv!
Plenty to do and see in the town, suggest visit to the Wadlata Outback Centre on Flinders Tce, very informative and helpful staff if you are staying around the town or heading out into any part of the outback or Flinders Ranges. Wish we had the time to stay longer and we will definately return soon to stay again at the Oasis. We found this Motel suitable for our family (we have a teen and a baby) and would definately recommend it to anyone.

Nice and new secure facility. Absolutely beautiful rooms. Only downside being the broadband company they used wanted to charge $28AU per hour and also restrict your usage to 50megs. I laughed and decided to do without our email for the 2 nights.
Situated on a lovely waterfront for romatic walks and a small beach nearby........alas these plans were scuttled as constantly loitering in the front of the apartments most of day and night drinking, arguing and fighting were the local natives who only temporarily disperce when an officer shows up. We had our front deck door closed so we didnt have to hear all the crap going on.
I felt for the owners as it is completly hindering what is the only decent spot for tourists to enjoy, as the rest of the town is boring and ragged looking.
Unfortunately we wouldnt go back there due to the experience, would rather find a similar hopefully romantic getaway.
But kudos to the owners for a beautiful complex.

Stayed at the Oasis Apartments for work purposes. It is definitely the best accommodation in Port Augusta. The apartments were built only in 2004, all have kitchen facilities and a king size bed.
the only criticism I have is that they don't have very many Austar channels, only sport, Nickelodeon and music max. A movie channel would be good. The other criticism is that the power source makes a buzzing noise which was so loud I had to unplug it to sleep but that may not bother other people.
Also I booked a one-bedroom apartment but ended up with a studio room and when I queried this the staff on reception weren't exactly clear as to why I hadn't got what I'd asked for.
