I stayed here because I attended a wedding at the hotel. I had read some of the bad reviews so was worried but I had a good stay. My room was in the main hotel and was was big and clean. I didn't have a car so it was nice to be able to walk to shopping and restaurants. I didn't swim but the pool was heated to a very warm temperature and looked very inviting. Being a member of the wedding party's family, I got a special reduced rate which was nice.

We stayed at the Owyhee Plaza for 3 nights last week and it was just fine. I read some of the bad reviews so when we got there I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, our room was comfortable, and the staff were helpful. It was right downtown in Boise and close to shopping and great restaurants. I'm not sure why it is getting so many negative reviews -- maybe everyone was staying at the really old pool-side rooms which did look very outdated. We were in the main hotel and the rooms were good. It was over 100 degrees in Boise while we were there and each day I had the pool all to myself. The pool was clean and a great place to relax. Our experience here was good and I would stay at the Owyhee again.

Our room supposedly was an "upgrade" since the hotel made an error on our reservation and overbooked. We did have a king-size bed, but the room was very noisy. The bathroom had a shower (no tub), crumbly walls, peeling paint, and a "vanity" that was a 9-inch shelf built over the toilet. The heat went out during our first night there, and with forty degree nights in Idaho, our room was a chilly 60 degrees. The front office advised us to use the wall heater, but our room didn't have one. No other rooms were available, so we ended up cancelling our next two nights with them and went to another hotel.

Stayed at the Owyhee for two nights. Not too bad. The people were friendly and the room was clean. The central location was very nice for someone who had never been to Boise before. It did get a little noisy, but earplugs (always a must on a road trip) blocked it all out. The worst thing I can say about it was that the elevators were very slow.

Very nice hotel workers, horrible room. Dirty shower, creaky floor, curtains did not close due to traveling rail not working. Worn carpet, dirt in all the wrong places. Road noise, thin walls. The A/C unit sounded like a train engine and the room had an odd smell. Do not stay here, I had no choice, the entire city was full of soccer players and families, this was the only room I had. Downtown Boise could certainly use a quality hotel, the Owyhee Plaza is not even a good choice for one night. Sleep in your car before you sleep here.
