Stayed 2 nights for work at Colonial on Elizabeth in a room recently refurbished. Great value. Air Conditioning was appreciated. Lots of free inclusions which made the already reasonable price even better value.Wireless Broadband only $10 unlimited each day.Quiet but close to CBD.Great meals, great service, friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Loved the gym and the history.Originally a school dating back to 1847.Looking forward to next visit.

Stayed at Colonial Inn for one night. It's really a glorified motel; some heritage rooms are available in the main hotel building which you see on the adverts (and more expensive).
Heart sank a bit when we were directed to a multi-storey concrete block behind the main building, but the room was comfortable and had wi-fi access. Access to Launceston is good and staff on reception were very friendly.
This hotel is fine for a night or two, but as stated earlier more of a motel than a hotel.

Disappointed with the Hotel given the cost compared to other accommodation.

Decor and fittings were 30 year old
Double bed too close to wall (not shown in pictures)
Noisy airconditioner
Other accommodation of a similar cost during our travels in Tasmania was way above the presentation at this venue
Renovations were being completed in another part of the building
Have advised our travel agent of our disappointment
Bathroom needed updating
Only booked for one night so did not comment to management and wish we had done so

Comfortabel and Convenient

Very professional, helpful staff and nicely located, just a few minutes walk from the city centre. Rooms are average but comfortable - don't let the main building's facade fool you - you'll be in the 1970's block out the back! Only concern is that my room was a little noisy as peopel moved throught he concrete external corridors. Good bistro and overall good value.
