Wir haben eine Nacht im Hotel Mussmann verbracht und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Ambiente ist hervorragend, die Zimmer luxuriös und komfortabel (und renoviert). Lage unschlagbar (direkt am Bahnhof). Zimmer aber ruhig (Doppel-Verglasung). Minibar (faire Preise). Sehr leckeres Frühstück (großartige Vielfalt). Tageszeitungen. Rund - um - die - Uhr kann man dort einchecken!!!! Wir würden immer wieder dort übernachten.

Hotel Mussmann is fine! For a low cost stay bang smack in the middle of Hannover it is good value for money. However don't be fooled by the title - Grand it is not! The staircases may be sweeping with interesting artefacts on the landings, but the rooms are brown 1970's style and a bit dingy. Most rooms don't have a bath. The beds are interesting in that they have a high wooden frames a bit like a box and convert to seating areas in twin roooms. The rooms overlooking Ernst August Platz (opposite the main station in the main square) are the best. Others open onto a central courtyard which is quite narrow and not the best place for privacy. Breakfast is buffet type and quite good. However at busy times it can be difficult to get a seat and the waitresses are quite busy. Check in staff are very friendly and helpful. As I have said in other reviews dont miss Ernst August Brauhaus for a night of excellent food, dancing and home brewed beer (which has amazing no hangover properties). The Market Hall for a dazzling display of multi national food and Standige Veratung for absolutely outstanding food in an unusual building (in the big glass bank which looks like a child designed it). Hannover is very under rated - sit by the lake and watch the world go by, wander in a baroque garden, take a trip up to the top of the Rathaus. THere are also trips out to half timbered towns like Celle and Hamlyn.

Ich übernachte gerade im Gran Hotel Mussman während ich diesen Kommentar schreibe und ich bin so vom Hotel und dem Service der Angestellten beeindruckt, dass ich das Gefühl hatte sofort einen positiven Bericht abgeben zu müssen. Das Grand Hotel Mussmann liegt nur einen Steinwurf vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt. Ich bin mit dem Zug angekommen und zum Hotel gelaufen (sogar mit meinem ganzen Gepäck). Der Eingangsbereich ist sehr spärlich, modern und eher klassisch gestaltet. Die Angestellten sind freundlich und haben meinen Namen erkannt, als ich ihnen sagte, dass eine Reservierung vorliege. Die Aufenthaltsräume des Hotels sind irreführend, denn sie sind sehr dunkel und einfach und könnten wahrscheinlich einen neuen Teppich und einen Anstrich gebrauchen. Aber mein Zimmer, oh mein Zimmer. Es war modern und minimalistisch eingerichtet, helle weiße Bettwäsche, eine Wand war vom Boden bis zur Decke mit einem durchsichtigen, glatten Stoff bespannt, der eine Reihe Fenster abdeckte. Es gibt einen großen Tisch, der sich wunderbar zum Arbeiten eignet, einen schwarzen Ledersessel, in den man sich reinkuscheln kann und das Badezimmer ist aus Marmor und mit vielen Spiegeln ausgestattet. Die Angestellten sind freundlich und sprechen gut Englisch (da mein Deutsch nicht existierend ist), außerdem kennen sie die Gegend sehr gut und können Ratschläge geben wie man am besten mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln weiterkommt. Ich bin wirklich sehr von diesem Hotel beeindruckt. Die Betten sind weich, das Zimmer extrem sauber, die Dusche ist kräftig und die Angestellten sind äußerst hilfsbereit! Dies ist das einzige Hotel, in dem ich von jetzt an in Hannover übernachten werde.

I'm actually staying at the Grand Hotel Mussman as I write this review and am so impressed by the hotel and the service of the staff that I was driven to write this review while I'm still here! The Grand Hotel Mussmann is situated a stone's throw from the Hannover main train station. I took the train in and walked to the hotel (even with all my luggage). The lobby is sparse, modern, and classy. The staff is friendly and recognized my name when I told them I had a reservation. The halls of the hotel are misleading. They are dark and plain and could probably use some new carpeting and a coat of paint. But my room...oh, my room! It's very modern and sparse, with clean lines, bright white linens, and floor to ceiling transluscent sheers along one wall that cover an entire wall of windows. There is an adequate desk for me to spread out my work on, a black leather love seat for me to sink into, and the bathroom is marble with lots of mirrors. The staff is friendly and speaks good English (as my German is non-existant), and knows the area well to be able to give me directions on how to take the somewhat confusing system of trams, trains, and buses to where I need to be tomorrow. I am so impressed with this hotel. The beds are soft, the rooms are extremely clean, the shower is strong, and the staff is extremely helpful. This is the only place I'll stay in Hannover when I return!
