Excellent deal & great staff
Guest name: lilamadison, Indianapolis, Indiana
I read with horror the nightmarish reviews here about this hotel so it was with great fear I registered for business here Monday 12 May for two nights. I was barely in the room an hour when a very apologetic staffer asked if I'd move across the hall due to renovations and I agreed. first and 2nd room were both very nice. Everything worked 100% from the TV to the dsl line. Staff was a total pleasure from the bell staff who marvelled at the Smart car we drove (and always gave us the very first spot by the door to show it off) to the front desk who laughed when we asked for late check out and said "you ONLY need one extra hour?" They were magnificent. The hotel does need a refresh and one's in the works and has started in some areas. While some things are a bit dated, we found it all very very clean, all well kept and there was no request too great for the crew. We don't know where all the cranks and complainers who wrote awful things about this hotel on this site stayed, but it certainly was NOT here. The place was even a deal at $99 a night and the $8 for parking at the door was also a bargain. If those places are taken, theres an attached city parking ramp for the same price...a deal in any downtown in 2008!
We hope to return early & often...and we wonder seriously who sent some of the poor reviewers on here...they got it all wrong!
By the way, while nightlife is not synonomous with Battle Creek as it IS a working city, Shranks Cafeteria had some local delicious lunches and Clara's at the old railway station offered great Chicken Picatta for dinner. Both are easy 3-4 block walks in a safe, clean downtown from the hotel, too. BRAVO!
1 star: Not a good choice but stuck w small town options

There on business and was booked into this location.
Let's face it, this is the best BC has to offer and you are basically stuck.
-Only other real choices are off the highway 8 miles away.
If you have a car, stay there and drive back in and pay the $8-10 downtown parking fee.
- At least you can get sleep (Trains)
- The rooms will be updated (looks like furniture from the 50's)
- More food choices near the mall. Their hotel food was bellow average. $12 for breakfast eggs/toast/uncooked potatos/warm coffee/slow service with only two customer.
- Room would be clean. Hairs in plain sight on bathroom counter, tub, floor. "Cleaning" person must be Ray Charles to not have seen them.

I was booked this hotel through Hotwire, so when I read the previous reviews it made me very nervous about my stay. One thing I must comment is that the new beds are very comfortable; the staff was very nice to me and helpful. Valet was full but we parked the car in an attached city garage to the hotel, which was half the cost of valet. The remodeled room including the bathroom was nice and fairly cleaned (besides dusty lights in the bathroom and a small paint stain on the bed skirt). I was very happy with our stay except we had a very loud floor with immature adult guests who were very inconsiderate towards the other guest on that floor. The staff was very supportive and listened to our complaint. All in all I give this hotel a B+.

Had little bugs flying around the window areas, lack of furniture in the room (chairs) asked for one and told there were none ,no exhaust in bathroom and bathroom door did not shut .All this for one hundred and nine dollars plus tax what a deal. The best thing about this stay was the Starbucks close by . Great people there. Be prepared to pay an arm an a leg for parking and to do alot of walking. Won't stay there again.
