We phoned directly and were told they had no vacancies so went on line for a cheap deal and found two rooms for the period we wanted. Obviously some one did not want to take the booking.
The staff were pleasent on arrival and helped if asked a question. Great location in the centre of Brisbane with parking costing $12 per night.
Our rooms were clean ,but one was in a little need of TLC. The other was fine.
Great for the night life and to get around. Would consider staying there again but would request the rooms by their number ,as we didn't have the best of the two rooms we booked.

I stayed at the Royal Albert with 15 friends for two nights during the Ashes cricket in November. The rooms were huge, although the furniture was a little dated. We had two sub penthouse apartments and two two bedroom suites. The staff at the front desk were helpful, especially the young girl on the nightshift who advised us on local nightlife. The taxi rank out the front is very convenient for getting around and there are a lot of restaurants around. I'd reccomend staying here for it's central location and friendly service.

I found our 1 bedroom apartment quite comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. My complaint: the sofa bed was broken and we were not advised on booking into the the hotel. It was 1 o'clock in the morning and asking the reception for a replacement at that time of the morning would be out of the question. When we advised reception there was no explanation or apologies for the inconvenience. (and the broken sofa bed is still in the room) Also, our room did not have a roll of toilet paper and the receptionist asked us to collect it from reception on our return to our room later in the day!!

Spent one night here mid-August 2005. Choose the hotel for it's location (which was great) - central to everything, and it's value - which was also great (US$104 thrugh Expedia. A handsome building from the outside, lots of polished wood and brass, this place is a through-back to the 1930's. The room was quite clean and well-appointed, but weird. Unnecessarily lofty ceiling, a step-down living/sleeping area. The whole place is worn and tired. I kept expecting a ghost to pop out of the woodwork. In closing, I can't say there is actually anything wrong with the place, it just felt strange.
