Being a local we like to get away at times and this property was close enough that we could run home to feed the cats. The Motel has large rooms that feature a sofa bed (ours wouldn't fold up this time),king size beds, coffee table and comfy chair, a wet bar, VCR with movies to lend, coffee makers and mugs as well as a pool, jacuzzi,sauna, weight room and game and laundry room. My Sister came to town when I had minor surgery and booked 2 rooms for her and her daughter and for my wife and my self. I was not released as expected so the wife stayed alone however the next morning after leaving hospital I joined them. My wife asked if we could stay until 5 and they agreed with no extra charge however my sis was charged half day. The doors need alignment badly and are hard to open and close however the rooms were clean and the full breakfast offered cant be beat. The 2nd floor rooms have balcony's with a view of not much but hey thats a minor thing. They also offer a reception daily with food and free soft drinks (alcohol at a min charge). They did fix the sofa though we didn't care as we didn't need it. We have stayed here on a few occasions and found it to be comfortable with friendly staff however we did note this time that some repairs are in order. It has been noted in some reviews that the location is in a dangerous area and I dispute this as being a local I know the unsafe areas of Oxnard. Bottom line: For the price this Motel works even though it is time for some minor repairs.

This hotel cancelled our reservation without a notification. We booked through Travelocity and gave our credit card number to guarantee our stay. We had fun all day around Ventura downtown area and arrived at night after dinner to this hotel to find out that the staff cancelled our reservation without notification. He said that we didn't give our credit card number to reserve it so he has to cancel it. This is not true. I have the proof on paper that I did. Then, he referred us to Comfort Inn, 10 minutes away which he said THERE IS a room available. He gave us a direction to go there. Following his directions, we ended up in the middle of nowhere in an industrial area. After visiting several different hotels to find a room without a success (it was a holiday weekend), we finally found Comfort Inn which was not where he gave the directions to. It turned out THERE IS NO room available there since early that evening. We cancelled our stay and shortened our vacation and drove home. A hotel that can't keep a reservation is a BAD hotel!
