The stay at OFV was nice at first. our family started looking around and the bathtub had hair and nasty stuff all over it. towels smelled horrible. The beds were so hard that they caused you from sleeping. Other then that they were quiet, the pool was very clean, not crowded, and good parking. But overall will not be back.

We booked through the Sands and stayed in B305. The view is remarkable! Our stay at OFV was a wonderful experience and our children loved it as much as we did. Peaceful, safe, quiet with lots to do. And the price to rent -- what a great deal! The staff was friendly and the other tenants/owners were warm, receptive and considerate. B305 is undergoing upgrades and we are excited to see the progress on subsequent return trips. After reading some of the less than positive reviews of OFV, I wonder if perhaps those folks should consider that they are not condo-people and a traditional hotel would better suit them.

We stayed at the Ocean Forest Villas from Feb 23 - Feb 28th, 2008 and stayed in room C105. I have contacted the property via email to express my concerns but I have not yet heard back.
We had read the reviews and thought we'd still give it a go as we've found that sometimes the reviews are way too picky or over exaggerated and while I think that might still be the case, for the most part I do tend to be in agreement.
The intial impression was positive but soon turned negative.
The good - the grounds are clean and tidy. The hotel is quiet and conviently located to the ocean. Some new appliances.. fridge, stove, microwave.. 2 Tv's .. balcony with chairs (albeit filthy dirty). Keep in mind, this will vary from condo to condo.. they are individually owned and are only managed by Sands.
The bad - The hallways smell badly of mold/mildew. Our condo smelled as well (thank goodness for air fresheners). The beds were hard as a rock. The condo was tidy but fairly dirty.. mold growing on the shower doors, around the vents etc etc. The dishwasher didn't work and took 2 days to repair. The jacuzzi in C building didn't work for the first 2 days. The main "sands resort" with all the facilities is NOT close by any stretch of the imagination.. approximately a 10-15mins drive.
We had a laptop but didn't bring the network cable to hook up to the dial-up connection in the condo (assumed it would be high speed)... we called to see if they had extras and they said no.. we were going out to buy one but were at the Ocean Plaza next door (for a disgusting breakfast buffet .. .don't do it!!).. and asked them if they had wireless access by any chance and they said "no, but if you go to the lobby at Ocean Forest they do.. they should have told you that".. .. not sure why they didn't but had we not asked we would have gone and purchased something for dial-up when the highspeed was available.. wireless.. and free!!!!!
The Ugly - the maid service... we paid extra for this and it was downright nasty. The counters weren't wiped, the floors weren't swept or cleaned... the dishwasher repair guy had to empty out old stale water into the sink and the maid didn't even wipe it out! GROSS!!!!!!! Beds weren't made.. etc etc.. not nice at all. The dishes.. this is the best ... when the dishwasher was broken we left our dished on the counter (not thinking that the maid service would wash them..just for us to do later).. They did clean them which was great, however, they actually put them into the cupboards SOAKING/DRIPPING wet!!! When we took out a dish the basin was FULL of water!!! GROSS !!
As mentioned - the breakfast buffett at the sister hotel - Ocean Plaza.. was disgusting.. On sale for only $4.99 so we figured it would he worth a try .. trust me.. it's not.
Would we go back to Ocean Forest ?- No..There is nothing at this place that isn't on every corner. We probably could have gotten A LOT better for the same price or less. All the hotels listed vacancies and specials... Live and Learn.

We've stayed at the Ocean Forest condos 4 or 5 times. Each time we stayed in a different room. Some were rented via the rental office, one was rented directly from the owner of the individual condo. But you are right across the street from the ocean, great view. Each condo is furnished. You used to get a deal w/ some of the meals included, but you can still get a pretty good rate - one of the lowest we found, & the places are clean.
