Quest is definitely the place to stay in Invercargill. Nice old building, well refurbished but staying in character. Apparently some more (minor) restorations are planned. I had an executive studio, featuring beautiful leather furnishings and a large bathroom - i think the regular studios are missing the leather? Central location yet remarkably quiet in the room, all very clean and everything you could need for a short stay. And there are plenty of things to do in Invercargill at night, lots of interesting cafe's, a great Irish pub about a block away that is open all the time and some decent bars and clubs for the weekends. And if you're not into that there is a cinema opposite the hotel and there always plays and shows on at the Civic theatre.

The Quest is as central as you can get in Invercargill. For those who don't know Quest is an Australasian business accommodation chain, specialising in longer stays. But they're equally welcoming to one-night tourists like us. For your NZD 125 (=£50) we got: a very large corner room with six windows, a large kitchen area, dining area, living area, all with a comfortable bed at one end and a very stylish spa bathroom. It was perhaps one of the best places we stayed in throughout NZ in terms of what you got for your money. If there was a downside, it would only be that Invercargill is not a place you're going to stay for long UNLESS you're on business. After 5pm it was deserted. However, highly recommended.

My husband and I had a wonderful 2 night stay here.
The hotel is located in the old post office building right in the centre of town. Great location but our room was still lovely and quiet.
Room was not huge but really nice decor and absolutely everything we could need was provided. All nice, clean and modern. Great shower.
Would definitely recommend to others and far exceeded our expectations for accommodation in this town.
