Recently stayed at the Quest. The location worked well for us. However, it was NOT close to a train station. Flinders Street station was a good 10 minute walk. We had a two bedroom apartment and it was spacious. It was nice having a washer and dryer in one of the bathrooms. The place was a little dated and the carpet was dirty. Minimum housekeeping was done during our stay. The heater in our room was not working and after talking with the front desk nothing was done. I would probably look elsewhere if I returned to Melbourne.

Our stay was not to bad, we only spent 5 hours in our room as we were out most of the night. We left the room with lettle mess but hours after leaving we were called and told we had to pay $100 for a stain on the carpet. It was a red stain we were told which was impossible as we had no drinks in the room. We explained this and they were very rude saying we had signed a form saying we would pay for any damage. What can ya do? Nothing. Never going back and reccomend if you read this choose elsewhere.

We expected more for what we paid.
Fairly small, booked a 1 bedroom apartment and got 'just' that. Everything was old and tired looking. The handle on the door to the balcony came off in your hand and the whole apartment needed lots of minor repairs to bring it up to a reasonable standard. The bed itself was closed in on three sides with a small opening to enter from the rest of the apartment. This made it stuffy and even though we left the airconditioner on before we went out the bed area was still hot when we returned. The rest of the apartment was nice and cool though. Friends had a 2 bedroom apartment and seemed to have a much better deal.

Was very centrally located, near casino, can walk into CBD. We had a 2 bedroom apt, great views and very spacious, would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Quest for 5 nights and picked the location because it was close to central Molbourne but quieter and set away. Next time we visit Melbourne, I would probably choose to stay in the city more so there is less walking and transport options are closer. I don't mind walking but we were there is Winter and it rained a few times so it made it uncomfortable.
Unlike the other lucky reviewers on here, we didn't get an upgrade and we were on the 1st level in a one bedroom apartment. We didn't see many other guests in our time there and it seemed to be the low season. The balcony is the size of a telephone booth and looked out on the street. We had originally requested a room with a view, but that wasn't what we expected :)
The apartment was nice and clean and the bedroom was separate from the living area, there is a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom which is good to have if you have an extended stay or are going on to other places before returning home.
We didn't hear any noise and ended up sleeping in most mornings because it seemed so dark, which was nice to do on holiday but some people might find it annoying.
Reception staff were helpful and friendly and the free internet in the reception area was good.
Overall this was a good experience, and did represent the price that we paid.
