We stayed one night at this hotel on our way through the area. The hotel is in a great tourist location within 2 blocks of the main pedestrian zone. The room was large, clean and comfortable, but not remarkable. It was a nice Spring day we opened the windows fully to get some air and look out over a small park. The staff was very efficient and handled parking car, luggage, check-in, etc. in a timely manner. Secure parking was extra (I think about 8 Euro) but breakfast and internet were included. Breakfast was typical German fare and decent. There were no real common areas in the hotel and not much in terms of amenities that we noticed. For wheelchair users, note that this hotel has a few steps and very small elevator so I wouldn’t really recommend it.

When I arrived, I was greeted with a beverage of my choice.
I chose Cocoa. When I left, I was asked if I wanted to have
them pack me a breakfast, since I had an early train to catch.
Each night as I returned to the hotel, they brought Cocoa to
my room. At breakfast, I got Cocoa with my meal. The breakfasts
were quite extensive and certainly more than I could appreciate.
When I finished my Cocoa at breakfast, they would ask if I wanted
another cup. But, the most amazing thing about these cups of
Cocoa were that they were accompanied with three or four delicious
pieces of individually wrapped chocolate candy. If I were to get
back to Freiburg, there is only one place I would stay. It would
be at the super-friendly, thoughtful Park Hotel Post. As the title
suggests, I have never been treated any better at any hotel in
my many years of traveling to many places.

We stayed at the Park Hotel Post for 3 nights.
We couldn't have a better stay !
The location is very convenient, near to the beautiful area of Freiburg.
The secured parking is a must.
The hotel is perfectly clean. The bathroom looked like renovated.
The room was of a good size.
The hotel is dog-friendly (an extra charge per night) but as he wasn't allowed in the breakfast room we asked our breakfast in the room, which wasn't a problem at all.
At our departure, the staff friendly offered us some drinks and snacks for the route.
We will definetely come back !

We had a great time at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were offered complimentary coffee, juice or champagne in the lobby, and on departure we were also offered drinks and snacks. The lobby is uniquely decorated and all around the corridors of the hotel are beautiful pictures of Freiburg and the Black Forest taken at different times of year.
Our room was a good size and comfortable. It was nicely decorated in white, blue and lemon and had plenty of storage space. The bathroom also had a radio in it to listen to while you shower! We had one room overlooking the park and another at the front (which was slightly noisy at the weekend when the windows were open).
The hotel is ideally located on a road just off the pedestrianised zone. Opposite there is the main post office and a few small shops. The train station is at the other end of the street. Although it does not have its own restaurant there are a few restaurants opoosite and nearby (Thai, Australian and Italian cuisine!) and it is only a very short walk into town.
Across the road there is also the Hemingway bar inside the Best Western hotel, which does a huge range of cocktails and seemed very popular at the weekend.
Breakfast was served in a nice bright room, and there was a wide selection. The only negative thing I would say about the hotel is that at the weekend the breakfast room seemed a little too small for the number of guests - it was very busy between 9-10. In the week, however, it was almost empty at that time!
I recommend booking through the hotel's own website as there you can request extras such as double or twin beds, a place in the garage for 8 euros, etc.
We reserved a place in the garage and I would recommend this if you have a car as it seemed quite full. We drove in down a ramp and then a man came and parked it for us and took up our luggage, he also parked it for us each time we came back after going out.
I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place. Everything was clean and the service was great. The morning breakfast was all you could desire. The location is also key, since it is 200m from the train station and another 200mm to the start of old town.
We also have a 3 year old, and the place was quite kid friendly.
Highly recommended.
