My experience was disappointing, although the hotel is nice and clean, the service of the staff was rather average. They did not offer any assistance and I had to ask for everything. I expect much better from a hotel in this price range. In addition their recommended restaurants included a terrible selection which had some of the worst food I've eaten in Europe. Overall this hotel isn't particularly bad, just very overpriced for the quality of service. I wouldn't stay here again.

It was my anniversary and we had been looking forward to going to Vienna for a special romantic weekend.
I normally try not to spend more tan $200 a night, but I wanted to splurge.
When we checked in and got the key, I knew there would be trouble.
The key was huge and used some strange electronic unlocking device that was extreemly outdated. and very difficult to use.
The room needed a renovation very very very very very badly.
The decor was wood panneling.think 70s rec room and bed....oh the bed...oh the bed.....was a glorified futon. No box spring just a hard matress on a peice of wood. The sheets were very cheep and rough and we only got one blanket. And the room was tiny.
The place was cheap, real cheap.
The staff was nice and I told the staff how disappointed I was. They offered to upgrade us on our second day.
Second day comes, I called the desk and they told me that there was no note for room change.
Housekeeping was done early and we were stuck in the small ugly room again except for this time it was dirty.
3rd comes and the finally move us.
I have to say that the last night the room was much nicer but still not worth the $279.
Overall, this hotel ruined my trip.
I love staying in hotels and this ruined it all...it was so extreemly upsetting to me...heartbreaking is more the word.
I will never return to Vienna because of this situation.

We are a couple with 2 children and stayed at the K+K Palais for 3 nights in a 4 bedded room. The hotel graciously allowed us early check-in (6 AM) at no extra cost. The room was very neat & tidy and though initially it had been prepared as a 3 bedded room, the 4th bed was immediately added when we reminded them of the same. Despite the extra beds, the room offered decent enough space and the bathroom was also very clean and functional. Breakfast was very good with a fine assortment of cereals, breads, cheeses & jams. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from Stephensplatz & the joys of the excellent Karntnerstrasse - abounding in restaurants & shops. An excellent convenience store, 'Billa', is just around the corner. The staff spoke halting but decent enough English & were very helpful with everything. The only minusses were the room lock & key system which needs to be changed ASAP and the hotel facade which seems to be in need of a facelift. The interiors however are very pleasant.

My wife and I want to add our accolades to the many already written about this property. It is a quiet setting overlooking a square and has excellent transportation via the frequent A3 bus to most of the main visitor sites directly or by free transfer to the two other central city loop buses. To make matters better, the hotel included a three day transit pass for two. Our room was spacious (we had the upgrade executive) and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we called to ask about and electricity converter, they brought one up within minutes. The free breakfast was very good, offering both American and European versions. There is a small market for food, toiletries, wine, etc. a half-block away at the bus stop. The desk staff all spoke good English. The price was quite reasonable for a hotel in a major European city. A tip is to tell taxi drivers you want the "Ka und Ka in Rudolphsplatz --the American "kay and kay" left them mystified. Also, the loop buses are a great way to see the city while riding along. We much preferred them to the subway.

Like most of the reviewers have already stated, the location of this hotel is quiet, but only a 5 minute walk to the main sights, and about a 3 minute walk to the U Bahn and to the tram stop (tram 1 is a great way to get your bearings and does a circuit of the inner stadt).
Unfortunately, the building opposite was having some renovation work done, and as the hotel is in a square, we were woken every morning by the builders, as the noise echoed around the buildings (dogs barking were also very loud!!!). This may have been because we were on the top floor (6th). The room was very hot so we had to keep the window open. It may be better on a lower room as they have larger windows rather than the velux we had (as we were in the roof of the hotel). These rooms also have sloping ceilings, so best avoid if you're tall!
The room was immaculate however, if a little on the small side, and all of the staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was also very good.
If I was going back to Vienna I would stay here. At 150 EUR a night, including a 3 day travel pass and a ticket to the Belvedere Palace I feel it was very good value for money.
