We had a standard room at Inn at the Forks (two adults & two kids, 15 & 13) for two nights in June. Overall the room was very comfortable, on the large side for a standard hotel room.
The Inn is right at The Forks National Historic Site - nice morning walk opportunities right out the front door. It's also right next to The Forks Market and Union Station; great location if you're taking the train.
Highly recommended for a stay in Winnipeg!

The Inn at the Forks is a wonderful hotel, convenient to all the activites at The Fork. The rooms were quiet with good beds. The bathrooms with the glass sink and countertop were exceptional. Our room looked towards the city; one night we had front row seats to fireworks from the local softball team. All in all, a wonderful experience.

I live in Winnipeg, and I decided to book the Inn at the Forks as an overnight birthday present for my boyfriend. I wanted a luxury suite, but they book up fast so i settled for a deluxe, and put my name on a waiting list not thinking anything would come of it. I also booked reservations at the Current, the restauant in the hotel.
Two weeks before my stay the hotel called and said that there was a cancellation, and they had a luxury room for me! i was very excited. So if you've got your heart set on a nicer room, they will actually call you back! I booked a romance package as well, which included chocolate covered strawberries (sooo good) champagne, breakfast, and parking. It was definitely worth it.
so it is a little pricey, but worth it for a special treat!

I was visiting U. of Winnipeg on business and the architect recommended we stay at The Inn at the Forks. The Forks being the Red River and the Assiniboine River intersection. The area has a childrens' museum, gift shops, in the winter a snowboard park, river ice skating, hockey and a rink for ice skating. There are a few activities to do in the area. Very nice.
The university is probably a 10 minute drive to/from the hotel during rush the hours.
I was checked into a 3rd floor double bed room with a north view of the park at The Forks, CanWest Global Baseball Park and the Riel Bridge Esplanade.
- Larger than standard room with a typical lay-out
- Desk area w/power & data connections
- Easy chair in the corner
- Standard size TV
- Tile floors in restroom
- Two double beds
- Armoires, no closets
- Ironing bard and iron in one armoire
- Pillows - each bed had (3) pillows
- Standard tub/shower
- No kitchen
- No drinks or snacks in room provided
- Decor is quite nice and the bathroom sink is very cool
- Business center located in the lobby
- Shuttle service
- Spaghetti Factory across the way
Overall, my stay was excellent. Room service was great , food was great. The hotel restaurant, The Current, offers some excellent meal choices. I tried some musk ox one evening and immediately felt guilty. Doesn't make sense, does it.
The lounge has great afternoon/evening lighting and my colleagues and I stayed in the lounge to eat dinner. The breakfast menu offers some great choices as well with healthy eating in mind.
The theme of the hotel is kind of a river/fish thing, but very nicely done. No singing trouts on the wall.
I highly recommend this hotel.
The one change I would make is to have my room farther away from the loading dock. I was awakened at 6:00am each morning by the opening and shutting of truck doors and loading dock doors.

As a lone traveller, I was looking for a friendly hotel in an area that would allow me to see a litte of Winnipeg without going too far from the hotel. Inn at the Forks provided all this. Situated 2 minutes walk from the river and surrounding park it is a lovely location. There are two small malls across the road, just right for a bite to eat and and a spot of shopping.
The hotel room (standard) was large, with a beautiful bathroom, huge queen bed and large TV. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and really made me feel welcome. It is not the cheapest of hotels in the city but I feel it was good value for money. The bed was literally the most comfortable I have ever slept in, honestly!!!
I will definitely be staying with the hotel on my next trip to Winnipeg.
