I wasn't very impressed with this "Motel" oops, I meant resort. The rooms are average, nothing spectacular. Our room had lots of ants and other tiny animals. We reported it several times to housekeeping and nothing was done about it. The A/C didn't work properly, our room was always hot. It seemed as if they internally controlled the temperature to save money on electricity. The food at The Palapa restaurant was excellent. The pool was nice and clean, good temperature and the beach was nice as well. Staff was nice. This resort is very old, it needs some serious remodeling. It doesn't compare to other Fiesta Americana resorts, very dissappointing. I don't I will be returning back to that resort. Great location!

We booked a vacation for May 24 - 29, 2008 through the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. We had 9 family members travelling - grandparents to young children. Five of us stayed in unit 241, which was a 2br plus with Hilton. I think we had the best unit in the resort. It was spacious and had 4 balconies - 3 overlooking the ocean and 1 overlooking the pool. We had a dining table that accomodated 8 people comfortably and a kitchen bar where 2 people could sit. We were very comfortable eating as a group when we had meals in the unit. Our other 4 family members stayed in a 2br ( 1br + studio) on the other side of the resort. Their view wasn't as nice, but they had plenty of space. The resort is older, but it has been updated. We spent time in the pool everyday, and always enjoyed it. There are water sports offered adjacent to the resort on the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Most of the staff spoke English well, which was helpful. I arranged a shuttle from the airport to the resort. It was very nice to have someone waiting for us. The location was convenient to shopping and dining. There are several close bus stops too. We used the bus our entire stay, except for the trip to and from the airport. The bus system is very convenient and very inexpensive. I completed an online survey after I checked out. There were two issues of concern that I mentioned: 1.The AC would never cool the rooms quite as much as we liked, and 2. We had poor service the one time we ate at the poolside restaurant. I received a personal response within 24 hours, letting me know that the AC in our units were being serviced and letting me know that they had some new wait staff who were still in training. I was very impressed with the response. We would definitely stay there again for a family vacation. I would probably choose another resort if my husband and I were going for a romantic trip without our children.

We stayed at FAVC March 29th Thru April 5th and had a great time. The hotel is older than the mega Vegas/Miama beach style hotels nearby but very well maitained and very clean. The restuarant was decent with the breakfast buffet our favorite meal of the day, The dinners were good, not great, The service was very good. The beach was rocky in the middle but easy to get in the water at either side. the ocean was very calm, clean and nice. I would love to go back, We enjoyed Cancun and the FAVC very much.
