The Sheraton Broadway Plantation impresses you on first arrival. Immaculate grounds. Plenty of outdoor amenities — even a 9-hole mini golf course. Several pools, proximity to (Myrtle Beach's inland amusement area) Broadway at the Beach — you drive in ready for a terrific vacation.
Then you deal with the staff and the suites.
For us things began our first morning when we discovered the kitchen in our suite had no frying pan. I called and was told "we're out of those". When I pressed further, the annoyed voice dismissed that the supplier's shipment might come in Thursday (2/3 into my family's vacation). My complaint that I was hardly getting value paying for an efficiency that required I buy my own cookware was greeted with an assertion there was nothing the woman could do. "Nothing" apparently excluded the Sheraton buying a few supplies at the Wal-Mart down the street (possibly invoicing the renters occupying the suite when the pans went missing). It's so much easier to let the current customer deal with the problem.
Then evening came and new neighbours arrived in the suite next to ours. The two suites are connected by one of those two-door-one-doorway assemblies that often connect adjoining motel rooms. The difference is that the doors in our unit seemed to have been made of rice paper. We could hear every word of our neighbours' conversations. Alas, they were nighthawks — not rude or boisterous, just people enjoying conversation late into the night. They weren't the problem. The shoddy lack of soundproofing by the Sheraton was the problem. It cost us sleep, but hey — that meant we slept through breakfast and didn't need a frying pan!
Most of our interaction with staff was met with disinterest. Often two or three staff members would continue working at their front desk terminals, ignoring guests standing in front of them for several minutes or until interrupted. No-one seemed to pay any heed to the fact that every day around 3:00, the resort's outdoor basketball and tennis courts would be invaded by kids from the high school across the street, crowding out guests.
All in all we enjoyed our vacation, but that was in spite of the Sheraton Broadway Plantation, not because of it. Perhaps we hit the unlucky week for staff and frying pans, and I note from reading other reviews here that apparently not all the suites are made of cardboard. Still, there are plenty of choices for accommodation in this area and the Sheraton Broadway Plantation won't be our choice again.

My family was in town for the week of July 4th and found the Sheraton Broadway to be the perfect spot. Close enough to the beach to get there with ease but far enough away to enjoy quiet evenings.
Excellent access to Broadway at the Beach and other local attractions. We even walked over for the 4th of July fireworks to avoid the parking nightmare.
Pool area is perfect for the kids. Very much geared toward the littler ones and my three year old had a blast. The newest pool area which opened on the fourth rivals the play area at Myrtle Waves for the toddler aged kids. Save yourself 30 bucks and stay poolside with the little ones instead of trekking to Myrtle Waves. My 12 year old loved the lazy river and the overall 3-4 ft depth around the pool areas made it such that we didn't even have to worry much about her.
The resort offered a ton of actvities onsite for guests but we were not able to take part since we were in town for a dance competition and that took up most of our days.
We stayed in a 1BR (490 sq ft) which comfortably accomodated the four of us. The kitchen area and laundry was extremely useful during our stay. Everything was neat and clean even to the satisfaction of my neat freak wife.
I would definitely return to this location.

traded in my sheraton orlando timeshare to stay here. Almost the same layout as Sheraton Vistana Villages. We stayed in the new section. I was disappointed that there was no adult pool - there were screaming kids in every pool. And parents that just ignored them. One disappointment which had nothing to do with the resort - in May every year, there's a Harley Davidson Biker Week, which we just happened to be there for. The bikers were nice, but the noise was awful.

We stayed at this location through a timeshare exchange. Even though it's not on the beach, it couldn't be in a better location!!! A very short driving distances to just about every attraction. Unfortunately, the new pool addition did not open as schedule. The current pool can get a bit overcrowded. I just wish a certain area of the pool could have been deeper than 3 feet. We didn't spend much time at the resort so it wasn't too big of a deal. The upkeep of the units and property are well groomed. Even though this resort is fairly new, I think the interior decor is a bit outdated (wicker furniture, etc). I hear the new buildings have flat screen TV's, etc. We stayed in building 13 which is decorated just like the Sheraton Vistana Cascades in Orlando. The staff was very accommodating, I called prior to arriving requesting building 13 and my request was granted! I would highly recommend this resort!
