We finally found a place that wasn't in the middle of the craziness that can surround Niagara. We have stayed in 2 other hotels in the last 3 years from this area and this was the best place we have stayed. Parking is free which is nice because other places do charge there. We have two boys and we all enjoyed the pool and the play area. A staff member on duty at the pool would of been nice to help regulate some of the other customers. The carpet could use a good cleaning, but I understand that the amount of people flowing in and out is hard to keep up with. The beds and bathrooms were clean and that matters more to us. It was nice to be able to remove ourselves from the craziness and noise of other tourists. We liked that we could drive back, shut our door, and only hear ourselves. We plan on returning in the fall and we will not hesitate to book our stay here.

Cairn Croft is perfect for families, especially those with small children. The staff was friendly and very informative. The hotel is not to close to the falls (1.5miles)but if you are interested in taking a few day trips to local wineries and Toronto it is a great location to reach the expressway. I will definately stay there again. ****READ BEFORE TRAVELING***** Do Not take cash to the currency exchange places they take a commision, instead use the atm your bank will charge a small exchange fee and only deduct the correct exchange rate from your account. This is much cheaper than using the Canadian currency exchange facilities. When shopping make sure you have Visa/Mastercard or Canadian money(Discover is not popular in Canada). If you need to get gas use cash. We paid by debit card only to discover that $100 was taken from our bank account. Pretty shocking when we only purchased $20 worth of gas. I called the gas attendent and he said that a 2 day hold of $100 was put on all transactions when you pay at pump. Lastly if you shop with American money be prepared to get different currency exchange values. i.e 1 USD = .94 to .99CAD

We traveled to Canada with my 74 & 77 yr. old parents, 2 yr. old grandson & 13 yr. old niece. Finally got to the B/W Cairn Croft & everyone was tried, decided to eat @ the hotel resturant. BIG mistake, after spending $100., we were still all hungry. The best thing was my grandson's chicken fingers. The food was horrible, inedible, nasty. The hotel has a large play area, everything is $1 or $2 (even the bubble gum machines). So after 3 days, we spent quite abit of money for these stupid, ripp-off games. I filed a complaint w/ B/W International & they couldn't do anything for me because the hotel is privately owned. Despite the photos on the web-site, this hotel is quite old, It has been remodeled. As a matter of fact there was construction & construction fence going on while we were there, even though no one told us there before we booked our stay.

I stayed here with my boyfriend. We had a queen bed and the room was huge and clean and beautiful..washroom was nice too..the actually hotel was decorated beautifully..staff were friendly.,..it was winter and we had to park in a crappy spot further in the back but that was the only bad thing.

As a last minute idea to make a weekend interesting, we decided to go to niagara falls. As an employee at the Barrie Best western, I choose to stay loyal to best western, the first one I found was Cairn Croft Inn. As you can not book employee rates directly with hotel, I asked upon c/i if there was anything they could do for me as it was a last minute thing. They kindly gave me a discount close to my employee rate. The front desk was very friendly and informative. I work front desk at my hotel, and was very pleased by their service and knowledge. If I have a customer here saying they are headed down there.. i mention Cairn croft. and they often come back to me with a very pleasant thank you for the reccomendation. The pool is amazing, feels quite like a resort feel. The rooms around the pool i'm sure may get a little noisy at times, we didn't stay in one, but if you have kids I would definately reccomened those rooms as it is very conveinent. We stayed in a 'tower' room i believe is what they call it. The rooms could use some updating, the bed was a little firm for my taste, but i'm used to a plush pillow top bed, so it makes a difference. Very clean rooms. I used to be a housekeeper and I had no issues with the room. Room services was very quick. There lobby is simply amazing. This is definately a hotel to take kids to.. mcdonalds and pizza hut beside it along with grocery store and i believe a pharmacy. Great location, no fallsview, but the pool and eateries around it make up for it. They have great rates with out the discount I got, I'm sure in the summer the rates go up a fair amount for tourist season, but none the less.. they have rates around the same as our hotel, and we definately don't have niagara falls just down the road. There are a few 'sex' shops.. as in lingurie and what not across the road, but really not a huge deal. Please stay at this hotel and try it out for yourself. I'm not trying to sell this hotel because i'm a best western employee. WE are all independatly owned and operated with a few obvious standards that we have to meet. this is a grea place, stayed there 3 times now and its where I will stay when ever I go down there.
