Staying at this hotel was a truly relaxing experience. Staff was helpful. Place was quiet, a fire always going when we were in the lounge having a plentiful breakfast and a late afternoon snack. Found the shuttle service easy to use and economical. The spa personell were great, as everyone we had contact with during our stay.

The Hacienda at Hotel Santa Fe was great. The "butler" service was a nice touch, the room was clean and nice, the location was good, the service overall impeccable, the lounge area a nice touch, and those working there and staying there all seemed very nice. We'll go back for sure.

When we arrived at this lovely looking and well reviewed hotel, we were pretty annoyed at the 'serve yourself' attitude that we got at reception. Being a pretty hearty family and not being one to expect frills, I did still expect a smile when told to handle my own luggage from my car to my room, without a cart, as the bell man told me I couldn't have one.
Restaurant staff was running at 50/50 with good service. After breakfast it took about 20 minutes of being ignored before I left to get ready for the day. When I returned the waiter was finally eager to give me my check, offering no apologies.
In retrospect, we should have stayed at the La Posada.
Great hotel near downtown

Although this hotel was a little out of the way, its still a quick walk to all the attractions of downtown Santa Fe. If you don't want to walk they will drive you anywhere nearby in their van or British Taxi Cabs. The hacienda is separated from the main hotel and has added features of a lounge where you can get a free breakfast.
The rooms where well decorated and although not huge, quite comfortable and new. We looked at the other hotels downtown and the Hotel Santa Fe is equal to many, but costs less. We found a special deal on Expedia for $199/night. Again, it is not in the heart of the action, but the benefit is that it is much quieter.
