I was concerned as, after booking the Kamp, I read some poor reviews here, which criticised the rooms and service.
I was delighted with every aspect. The room was large and comfortable - and quiet. The service was efficient and staff were friendly - requests for pillows and other bits and pieces were dealt with promptly.
The breakfasts were excellent and catered for all.
And most of all, the price was very good indeed.
The location could not have been more convenient.
Excellent value for money!

Actually I never could imagine that this small, with modest entrance hotel could be so superior! Firstly, rooms are awesome, designed in light colors, huge beds and good choice of TV channels. We hardly had meal inside, but the breakfast was what it should be in 5* hotels.
But most of it I lived concierges who gave us so many usefully and valued tips where to go, helped with taxi, etc, etc.
And finally this is the hotel for those who prefer individual approach (not like in Hilton for instance).

Good reception at arrival, but maybe a smile could be in place. Anyhow, very efficeient check-in. Room felt a little bit outdated but ok, not that big. Bed ok. Minibar has some kind of sensor system so you are billed as soon as the item leaves the mini-bar. Extreamly expensive, one can of Coke is 6EUR. Room-service efficient but also very expensive. Internet is extra (do I hate that greed) at 20 Eur for a 435 Eur room!!!!! Good sleep, brekfast average, breakfast was included in rate, still I was charged extra. Receptions answer was "Maybe you had two". Not five star.

This is a wonderful hotel with loads of history dating back some 120 years. It has been restored to an excellent standard, still keeping its elegance and past but now modern of technology included. when i stayed the restaurant had just re-opened and the meal and service was superb. set in the heart of helsinki just off the Esplande park in one of the finish shopping areas arround. Ideal location to see all the sites on foot as i did.
The room was luxurious but the cumfort factor had not been lost as the bed was 10 out of 10 for sleep factor. all in all taking into fact the age of the original hotel and the fact that it has been modernised it still makes you feel that you have gone back in time.
