I have stayed at the Goldener Hirsche numerous times and won't come to Salzburg unless I can stay at this incredible combination of history and luxury. The Festival rooms are large with wonderfully comfortable beds and an incredible bathroom. The staff is always friendly and helpful, but the best part is the location. To step out through those huge old doors onto the Getriedegasse is awesome. I highly recommend this hotel.

We just returned from a three night stay at the Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg. We booked two suites and they were fabulous. The rooms were warm and cozy. We were so thankful they had AC because the temperatures were unseasonably warm for May...it got over 90 degrees several days in a row. While the hotel is lovely and historically fascinating, the staff are what make this hotel one of the best. Every single staff member we encountered was so personable and helpful. They went above and beyond to offer us travel advice on restaurants, map directions, tourist attractions, etc. We absolutely loved our time at the Goldener Hirsch.

We just had a very nice stay of 2 nights in the Goldener Hirsch Hotel in Salzburg. The hotel is situated nearby all things of interest in the center of the town so you don't have to use your car or public transport. We did not have a reservation in any hotel in Salzburg so when we arrived in the city we drove to Central Station where the touristinformationdesk is at the first floor. There we chose this hotel and we liked our choice. The rooms are in an antique style furnished, the beds are good and the bathroom is spacy. On the topfloor there is some sort of spa. We did not use it so we can't tell anything about that. Breakfast is excellent, behind the hotel is a private parking. We would choose this hotel again for we enjoyed our stay.

This was my favorite hotel during my two week European travels. It is in the most excellent location. But more importantly, it has historic charm but with all the comforts of modern amenities. Clean, comfortable, spacious and amazingly adorable rooms! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
