The good news - hotel is near the beach
The bad news - other than the chamber maids the standard of service was amongst the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel of this level - reception desk staff were surly verging on rude
and there were never sufficient bar staff and those were brusque at best.
Rooms are ok but for the price one could do alot better. The hotel thoughtfully provides condoms in the mini bar - very handy for anyone wanting to entertain one of the "ladies" hanging around the bars and reception area!
I would only recommend this hotel for its proximity to the beach and the conference centre.

I know that everyone has their own preferences and expectations, which is why I am not surprised that some people did not like this hotel. Personally, we loved it. We stayed there for 2 nights and the room was very large with an exceptional view of the sea and we could not want for anything.
Granted, it may be a little dated but it is in keeping with the character of the building. The hotel was very grand, the staff were very helpful, the service was good and the room was just as grand.
Lulu (of UK fame) was staying at the same time as us and we met her. If the hoel is good enough for Lulu then its good enough for me.

This hotel was dirty. Service was surly. It was incredibly expensive -- over $1,000 USD per night. There were roaches in the room. The wall coverings in the room were falling off the walls. The carpet was filthy. The furniture was broken and wobbly. Soap was not even replaced by the maid serviice. The bed was so used that we sank almost to the floor every night. This is a 4 star hotel and part of American Express' "Fine Hotels" program. Some one is bribing some one for this rat trap to receive even two stars. When I checked out no one even asked if the stay was pleasant: they didn't care enough to even ask. We returned to Paris and had tea at the 4 Seasons: the Majestic needs to send their entire staff to 4 Seasons training. The 4 Seasons was terrific; the Majestic is a Motel 6 on the riviera. They are closing to renovate this has-been hotel (if it ever was a real hotel). It should have been renovated at least five years ago. Hopefully, when the staff returns it will have learned how to treat guests. What an incredible disappointment.

This property is well located on la croisette if you are attending the Cannes film festival or a convention at le palais des festivals. I found the service very good and the hotel clean.
Unfortunately, the value is not present. I don't mind spending money for something nice, but I feel empty here. It's perhaps too high end and it makes you feel like a snob. If you stay at a hotel off of la croisette and behind the main buildings, you will find better value but the town is really a 'pocket of poverty' whever you go so don't be surprised when paying your bill.
Overall, will not stay here again.

Superbe hotel, avec les prestations haut de gamme.
Un peu rococo à mon gout, je préfére plus moderne, mais le lieu reste magique
