Not up to Par.
In September 2007 my wife and I spent four nights at this hotel. We kept asking each other is really a four star Hotel? I had read the reviews before booking the hotel and I think a lot has changed over the years. Most of our problems are the results of the maintenance. Let me give you some examples. The first three nights we had to call down for toilet paper. Wouldn’t think the cleaning people would check that? Not only did they not they also did not wash or replace any of our drinking glasses nor did they remove any dirty dished from room service. I am sure they did not own vacuums as our floor were always dirty. A new cleaning staff would do wonders for this hotel. The room was a good size with nice furnishings and good views of the ocean golf course and the city. Being American we like ice cubes with our cocktails. First night we got them no problem the next two nights we received shaved ice (I tried to say cubes in French as well as English but I don’t think it sounded right) and the last night it was a 50 minutes wait for just ice cubes. The exterior and interior are in need of refurbishment even the front entrance had pealing paint on the doors and windows. I also think the furniture in the bar area was tacky.
That’s enough bad points. I will say that the grounds maintenance was in excellent condition all around the hotel. After all this is a golf resort. The staff at the front desk and in the bar area were top notch very friendly helpful and did speak English. The location was fantastic. We are not big fans of staying in the city. It was very convenient for seeing the war memorials in the area. A very busy golf course so I can only assume it is good as I did not play the course. This would be an excellent place to stay if it were not for the maintenance issues so before you book call and see if the have trained the cleaning people.

Hotel Du Golf is superb!! The staff without exception are the most helpful and friendly they could possibly be. The hotel is very clean, food exceptionally good. Beautiful location, views and floral displays. Nice rooms with great bathrooms. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to everyone; families, singles, young, elderly and most particularly golffing couples.

My wife, my son and myself have just returned home after an amazing holiday in France, the last three nights of which we spent at this amazing hotel. This hotel is how all five star hotels in the world should be. Everything was amazing from the time we checked in until the time we left it. Our over spacious executive room with views to the swimming pool and the golf course was great and had everything we needed, the service from the staff was impecable all over the hotel, the breakfast was amazing, the pool area fabulous as was the rest of the hotel and the surrounding areas . And trust me I know what I am talking about since I have worked in the past in five star hotels both in Switzerland (Geneva) and in my home country (Cyprus).
So we are definately coming back to this hidden treasure of a hotel.
