INhospitality in quiet residential setting

After being stuck on the runway for almost 3 hours and arriving at our hotel after 2 in the morning, I was still willing to muster my best broken, yet polite, Italian upon arrival at the hotel. I never anticipated the rudeness with which we were greeted! By the end of the check -in process, my boyfriend and I felt as though we had been time-transported back to high school and we were going to be grounded for arriving past curfew! The clerk had absolutely no sympathy for our situation and went on to chastise us for missing the hotel car that I had reserved for our transportation. Absurdly, being on a severely delayed flight, stuck in the plane on the runway, these were not valid excuses for this guy...and forget about a warm welcome after a difficult trip! He went so far as to explain that these situations are exactly why he never travels. Weird... I thought people in the "hospitality industry" encouraged travel...
The clerk on duty the following day was not any more welcoming, or even polite. The bottom line here, is that the treatment that we received by these two front desk clerks had a negative impact not only on our hotel stay, but also on our trip in general. I would have walked out and stayed somewhere else, had the room not been part of a package deal.
Beyond the emotional distress, this hotel is generally okay. They do offer a good breakfast and the rooms are comfortable. The location should be taken into consideration, as other people have written here. It is not in the central area of Rome. Taking the train to the subway is easy, though the trains stop running by 9 or 10pm. Taxis have to be used after that. If you don't mind a little travel time, staying here will offer a quiet residential experience. Also, as another person wrote, the internet access was ellusive and the front desk only offered a neighborhood internet cafe. There is a bar around the corner that offers delicious snacks.
Unfortunately, the service at the hotel left such a bitter taste in my mouth, I would never go back. I would feel weird about giving them my money.

As it was my second travel to Roma I was a bit anxious about the accomodation since my last experience in another Parioli area hotel was terrible.What a surprise!!!Polo was almost just what we wanted.We were informed about the walking distance from main attractions and it was our choice to stay that far.It's about half our walking to Spagna via Villa Borgheze though the use of suburban from Euclide to Flaminio and continuing with metro is highly recommended.We never felt the rumble of metro in our room in 4th floor but it was clear at the breakfast floor.Just cute...The personnel was adequate,average kind and helpful.The room and generally the hotel was more than shiny clean.The room was small but well equipped,the bathroom small and yes,sitting in toilet is a bit complicated.Overweighted or just more than average dimensioned persons may have problems here.Some details as electric plugs in our room (403) need some check as they look somewhat harmful since they are worn or damaged.The neighborhood is marvellous and calm.There is a very good eating place called Ristart (ex-Angelica) a few steps from hotel next to the cinema.Fantastic tastes,the best tiramisu I've tried ever but a bit overpriced.
We will keep this hotel in mind for any other future visit in Rome and undoubtefully we will suggest it to any of our friends.

Personnel très antipathique, beaucoup de bruit aux étages inférieurs, alors nous sommes montés aux étages supérieurs (le 5ème est ce qu’il y a de mieux). Toute la journée, de 5h30 à 1 h du matin, on entend le bruit et les vibrations du métro dans tout le quartier. Nous n’y retournerons pas, même si les lits étaient irréprochables, tout comme la petite salle de bains.

Cet hôtel était très propre, ce qui est une priorité ; notre chambre était minuscule, mais confortable. L’hôtel est un peu excentré, mais si vous pouvez aller prendre le métro à pied, c’est tout à fait faisable. Le petit déjeuner était fantastique, mais les employés n'étaient pas très aimables, on avait même l’impression de les embêter en leur demandant quoi que ce soit.
Emplacement agréable, non loin d’une station de métro, ainsi que de bons bars et restaurants.

Este hotel tiene sus a?os, pero se conserva muy bien. El servicio es del todo correcto.Sus instalaciones limpias y bien conservadas. Las habitaciones amplias, yo estuve en una triple ya que viajabamos con una ni?a, y la habitaci?n era perfecta(tengo constancia que las dobles eran practicamente de las mismas medidas.Los cuartos de ba?o en muy buen estado, habiendo habitaciones con ducha y otras con ba?era de hidromasaje. El desayuno estaba bien(Incluia platos calientes) y todos los productos eran de calidad. La situacion del hotel, es muy cercana al centro, ya que se encuentra en la parte de villa borghese, a una parada de metro de la piazza del popolo.Tambien bien comunicada en autobus, con los autobuses 926 y 52 que en 10 minutos te situaban en pleno centro. Tanto la parada de autobus como estaci?n euclide se encuentran a 5 minutos caminando del hotel(a unos 200 metros).Todo esto a un precio de 80 Euros por noche por una habitaci?n triple, en Roma es un regalo ya que los hoteles que son muy centricos son muy caros y de una calidad infima. Por tanto no lo dudeis, a este precio en una muy buena opci?n. Ademas para finalizar un dato. Este hotel trabaja m?s para viajantes y hombres de negocio que para turistas, asi el nivel que proporciona es mas que adecuado a su precio. A este precio no encontrareis mejor opci?n por lo que os ofrece.
