This was a lovely little hotel. I flew in from Australia and was so jetlagged and they checked me in early and gave me an end quiet room. Bottle of wine in your room is an excellent touch, and I loved the small nightcap they brought! I'm afraid I didn't see much of the city as I was on my way to Buenos Aires, but I did use the small pool and gym on the top floor with a lovely view. Breakfast was varied, the staff were a bit hit and miss in the restaurant, but very friendly on reception. I did try to use their wireless but had really bad reception in my room.

A great family hotel. Everything about this hotel exceeded expectations. The rooms are good size, well appointed, and comfortable. (There is a welcome tray of fruit and wine.) The lobby is nicely done up and the restaurant is well run with excellent food. (We used it for the included breakfast only.) The location is just a couple of miles east of the downtown, in a middle- to upper-middle class area. Good shopping nearby, tree-lined streets, a metro station two blocks away, and plenty of taxis if you need them. Best of all were the staff -- friendly, helpful, and efficient. Most spoke good English. The concierge spent 45 minutes with me in a nearby optical shop to help me order a replacement contact lens. Finally, all this for a very competitive price, considerably lower than the US chain hotels (Sheraton, Hilton, etc.) It has the feel of a "boutique" hotel without the boutique price. Two very minor negatives: they did not answer email when I tried to book the room; I ended up calling them. And, like most hotels in South America, they will not put four people in a room. We had one room for us and one for the kids -- still inexpensive at the prices charged.

This was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our trip to Chile and Argentina. The bedrooms were large and comfortable and very well decorated. The concierge was so helpful and assisted us in many ways. The restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced and it was so welcoming that we had dinner there every day after a very well made cocktail in the adjoining bar. The breakfast buffet was very good and they even opened it early for us when we had a 7am transfer. The location is good and although it is on a main road the rooms were quiet, although, as always, it is better to go for one as high as possible. The underground railway is very efficient, clean, and easy to use, and it whisks you into the heart of the city in a few minutes; the station is a few minutes walk from the hotel.

The Santiago Park Plaza proved to be a great choice of hotel. The location is excellent. Providencia is a lovely area of leafy green avenues with plenty of dining and shopping choices. The hotel is less than a block from the Metro station which makes it ideally situated for exploring the city. Rooms are large for South American standards and, while a little dated in decor, offer a high standard of accommodation. Concierge staff are pleasant, professional and very helpful in arranging transport, tours, etc. Front desk staff were equally professional however a little lacking in the warmth department. The hotel's restaurant offers an wonderful, extensive breakfast buffet included in the room rate with attentive service. The fruit basket and bottle of wine brought to my room on the first night by the head waiter to welcome me to the hotel was a nice touch. Good value for money at $126 USD per night, booked through the hotel website.

In all of our travels throughout the world, I don't think we have had a better combination of quality and service than we enjoyed at the Park Plaza, all the better at such a competitive rate.
Huge breakfasts, great selection of cocktails and bar snacks, I'd guess the dinners would be good on this basis although we did not eat in the restaurant, the room was well appointed and serviced (complimentary half bottle of wine and fruits each day) and the hotel is well located but not noisy.
The staff could not be more helpful, especially Yamilet, Roberto and Pablo, who helped us when our home bank stopped my ATM card due to a security false alarm, made arrangements for us to get to a local football match and generally made us feel so welcome in Santiago.
