Had a wonderful time in Madrid and the hotel was ideal. Very well located but not too noisy. Very modern and trendy decor. The buffet breakfast - wow!!! The best we've ever had. VVery friendly reception staff.Thank you!

The hotel is in the heart of the old town of Madrid. The area is lively in general, but the hotel is on a small, quieter street. Overall, we were really satisfied with the hotel. Smart looking rooms and common areas, above average breakfast, efficient air conditioning (a must in Madrid!), free wi-fi everywhere in the hotel, and friendly and flexible staff made our stay very enjoyable. They even let us sneak in the breakfast room early on our day of departure, to get some fruit and youghurt before heading to the airport at dawn. The hotel advertises rooms with a street or patio view. We did not have the street view, so seeing the wall of the next building and neighbours' laundry hanging from windows must count as the "patio view". We paid less than 130 euros / night (including tax) and with that price I would stay again at Room Mate Mario.

The location of the hotel is PERFECT!its close to everything..restaurants,theatres,the metro etc..The buffet breakfast was good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I arrived at the hotel at around 9pm and the staff already knew I was coming and everything was ready. I asked to change rooms TWICE and they were very accommodating about it(no extra charges for a bigger room!) I suggest to any couples who are planning to stay in this hotel to get an executive room instead of the standard ones, and ask for a room facing the streets as you'll have two large windows and more sunlight. It was quite noisy during the last two nights though(sounded like someone was dragging and banging their bags on the roadside) but other than that, everything was perfect! I highly recommend the room-mate chain of hotels for their excellent value for money and service.

hotel looked great on the pictures and we were not disappointed. staff were extremely friendly and helpful.We arrived on the day of the Champions League final and they asked around and checked on the internet to find out which TV channels and therefore pubs were showing the game. Buffet breakfast was one of the best i have ever had and included in the room rate. Good location, very close to metro stop and about 10 minute walk from Sol. LA BOLA restaurant very well recommended. Close to hotel and delicious Madrileno speciality-cocido. Meat and chick pea stew. Been to Madrid 3 times and each hotel has been great but this was the best. Will definitely stay again.

The hotel was not as nice as the website suggested. The room was small and clean with a tv, but was decorated in a very basic fashion. The style is supposed to be minimalist but this seems to be an excuse for cheap furniture and white walls without any character. The bathroom was pleasant enough but the toilet seat was broken and the shower did not drain very quickly. The buffet breakfast was pleasant without being anything special. The staff were friendly enough, and helpful when we asked them questions. Overall the room was clean and in a good location but not as nice as the website suggested. It is not the elegant chic place as advertised and is overpriced.
