At the end of June my family and I travelled to Istanbul by car.
We had booked the hotel through the internet and we couldn't have chosen any better!!!
Where should I start, from the view from the roof terrace? Or how clean the room was? Or should I mention the position of the hotel, right in the heart of the historical Istanbul. All the important sights were at walking distance. Or should I mention how polite and yet professional all the personelle was?
Any how, the room was a bit small but so clean and the bathroom so beautifu! The minibar was filled up in a generous way and the room was cleaned always after we had left the room for our daily excursions. The view on the roof was breath taking and brekfast and dinner excellent. Restaurants menu mixed in a perfect way "oriental" and european kitchen.
The personelle was polite and helpful so much at the desk, as also in the restaurant or garage. We have no doubt where we are going to stay in Istanbul on our next visit.
We warmely reccomend Yasmak Sultan Hotel to any traveller that knows how to enjoy their trip. And don't make a mistake of staying just a weekend, Istanbul fills up easily a full week with all the fabulous sights it has to offer a traveller.
We also want to thank all the personelle of Yasmak Sultan hotel for such a good service and especially the PR manager , Eda who helped us with a personal matter that occured to us while we were there.
with regards Maarit and Eystathios Bolanos

We stayed at the Yasmak Sultan for two nights when we arrived in Turkey. After two weeks of traveling throughout Turkey, we returned to the Yasmak Sultan for two nights prior to our departure for Paris.
The Yasmak's staff are outstanding and their service is excellent. The rooms, though small, are very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is also small, but spotlessly cleaned. We liked the room best that faced the main street; we enjoyed opening the windows and watching Istanbul pass by.
The top floor open-air dining room serves a wonderful breakfast (included in the room cost) with an extraordinary view of Istanbul and the Bosporus River.
Best of all: the hotel is located within easy walking distance of the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, Haghia Sohia, and numerous small shoppes and eating establishments.
When we return to Istanbul, we'll stay again at the Yasmak Sultan.

Delightful Yasmak Sultan

We had 4 nights at the Yasmak Sultan. Excellent position to see the best known tourist sights of Istanbul. Initial room was a little small but upgraded to junior suite which was excellent. Staff were extremely helpful with particular reference to Eva the tourist advisor and Mustafa the restaurant manager. Brilliant views from the rooftop bar and restaurant as well as good food and wine. Highly recommended.
Not a four star hotel

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in May 2008. We reserved a double room and a single room, but, upon arrival, the concierge told us that they only had a triple room available for the first night, and our rooms would have been available from the second night; we complained, and we've been asked to move to the next door hotel, which is of the same property; we complained again, refusing to go to a three star hotel while we had already paid for a four star hotel, and then our rooms finally summoned: they were clearly overbooked and someone else after us for sure experienced the same problem we had.
My single room was very tiny, with furniture at least 20 years old, and the TV just slightly younger. The bathroom was even smaller: I could almost not close the door without getting into the shower ! The room overlooked a demolished building, where works to remove rubble started at 7 AM, but this was not a problem as I was right next the emergency staircase, which is used by the very noisy hotel staff, waking me up every morning at 6 AM.
The fitness centre is ridicolous: just a small room on the underground floor with an old bike, an old runner, and a massage bed, that's it.
There are only two good points about the hotel: the free Internet wifi connection and the rooftop restaurant. The first one didn't work for the first three days, but worked well on the fourth day, just before my departure. The rooftop restaurant were breakfast is served is stunning: there's a very good view on Topkapi Palace and Golden Horn, and this is probably the very best thing about the hotel.
Definitely not a 4* hotel, with old furniture, small rooms, and a ridicolous fitness centre.

The hotel was in an excellent location, 10 minute walk to everything (spice bazaar, grand bazaar, waterfront, blue mosque, etc). Our room was a little small but extremely cleam and comfortable. The views from the rooftop terrace were amazing. Every evening Mustafa would sit with us and talk about our day and make recommendations as well as help explain their culture. The turkish bath and scrub was amazing. The room could have used a clock.
