Primeramente, debo decir que el hotel ya no es parte de los hoteles Tryp, y que ha cambiado su nombre a Hotel Torres de Compostela (TC Hotel). Me alojé en el hotel con mi esposo durante un congreso que tuvo en La Coruña por dos noches (¡no había hoteles disponibles allí!). Era nuestra segunda vez en Santiago, y elegimos este hotel en base al precio (60 euros por una habitación doble estándar, sin desayuno). Está ubicado en el distrito residencial, a unos 20 minutos andando del fenomenal centro histórico. De hecho, si es la primera vez que estás en Santiago, o si quieres explorar la zona de la catedral, no te recomiendo este hotel. Hay muchos hoteles en el centro que harán tu estancia más especial y divertida (¡allí hay muchos bares y restaurantes típicos!). Lo bueno de la ubicación de este hotel es que está muy cerca de la tienda departamental El Corte Inglés, que tiene un enorme supermercado en donde encuentras de todo a precios razonables. Al momento de nuestra llegada, pedimos que nos ascendieran a una suite (110 euros incluyendo el desayuno). La suite tenía mucho espacio, era cómoda, y decorada de una manera moderna. Los servicios eran regulares. El desayuno estaba bien para su precio (¡tenía unos buenos churros!) y el personal era agradable y atento. Tenía aparcamiento privado gratis. En general, debo decir que es una buena opción para viajeros de negocios, pero si buscas tener un viaje romántico inolvidable, entonces te debes alojar en el centro de la ciudad, el cual es absolutamente fantástico.

First of all, I must refer that this hotel is no longer a member of the Tryp hotels, and has changed its name to Torres de Compostela Hotel (TC Hotel). I have stayed in this hotel with my husband during a congress he had in A Coruña (no hotels were available there!), for 2 nights. It was our 2nd time in Santiago and we chose this hotel based on the price (60€ for a stardard double room excluding breakfast). It is located in the residential district, about 20 min walking from the gorgeous historical center. In fact, if its your first time in Santiago or you want to explore the cathedral zone I would not recomend this hotel. There are lots of hotels in the center that will make your stay more special and fun (there are lots of typical restaurants and bars there!). The good thing about the location of this hotel is that it is very clore to the department store El Corte Inglés, wich has a huge supermarket where you can find everything at reasonable prices. Upon our arrival, we asked for an upgrade to a suite (110€ including breakfast). The suite had plenty of space and was comfortable, decorated in a modern way. The amenities were regular. The breakfast was OK for the price (had good churros!) and the staff was nice and attentive. It had a free private parking. Overall, I would say that this is a good choice for business travelers but if you want a memorable romantic trip, then you must stay in the city center wich is absolutely fabulous.
