My second stay at the Bondeheimen. Convenient, reasonably clean and reasonably helpful employees.The food service people did not show up one morning, no great inconvenience to us, not being in a hurry, but nonetheless. Great location in all ways. We would come back.

Pretty normal Best Western Hotel, does what you'd expect well but not particularly excelling at anything. Good value as always in a good location for exploring Oslo and out into the sea.

My boyfriend & I stayed here for a weekend; it was a comfortable base to explore Oslo, and is in a very central position. The hotel was clean & functional but not suitable for a romantic time. Our room was small with twin beds pushed together. There was a good Breakfast selection and excellent coffee (I find it hard to get good coffee in hotels) Oslo was very amiable, quiet and relaxing and the staffs at all places were very obliging. All in all a nice experience not an exciting experience.

I disregarded the suggestions to request a courtyard facing room due to noise, and I regretted it. The noise is not normal "city noise." There is a restaurant next door called the Mardi Gras that has an accordion player and tambourine player come out onto the street at 10 minute intervals singing "The Saints go Marching In." Until 3 in the morning. Friday night was of course worse than Wednesday and Thursday. The hotel room was clean, but the bathroom needs updating. Definitely not a luxury feel, just very utilitarian.

We spent one night in the Best Western Bondeheimen Hotel Oslo after a short break in Lillehammer. The hotel was very easy to find on foot coming from the station (it is also well-placed for public transport services) and was in a great location for the city centre sights and window-shopping - we couldn't actually afford to buy anything, though, the prices were so high! We had booked superior rooms, which were plain but comfortable and clean. Our room had a balcony onto the street but unfortunately a) it was off the bathroom and b) the door did not fasten properly. During the evening and night a crane was working in the street below and the ill-fitting door meant the noise from the street works was very bad. We complained but there were no other rooms free. The next morning there was an apology from the Manager and a voucher for a free meal at the restaurant next door - worth about ?50, so we were reasonably happy in the end despite the lack of sleep. I would certainly recommend this hotel as good value for money in expensive Oslo - just avoid the 2 rooms with balconies! The restaurant serves a delicious spread for breakfast and good traditional Norwegian food during the day.
