Visited with a friend for 3 nights. Quite a long journey from Lisbon Airport as we chose local transport, bus, boat, bus. Not difficult but if time is short may be worth paying for a taxi.
Hotel is ideall located right on a lovely beach in a small bay. Weather wise we were blessed with sunny days and used the rooftop sun terrace. The roof pool had been enclosed and rather warm.
Room quite adequate, we paid for the sea view with balcony option and it was well worth the extra to leave the door ajar at night and fall asleep to the lapping of the sea.
Breakfast was awful! Hot buffet was laid out but cold, also the coffee. I gave the waitress my plate of hot food expecting a freshly cooked one but no such luck. We stuck to the cold options after that. The dining room is in a time warp with plastic dusty flowers amongst the food, very bizarre.
Did not use the restaurant for evening meals but ate very well at nearby restaurants. The coffee shop next door is excellent for lunch and would be a good alternative for breakfast too.
We found the staff to be welcoming and helpful. There was a problem with my deposit, they said it had not been paid and I paid again. When I got back checked my card and it had been paid. Took a few emails but eventually got a refund.
Sesimbra is a lovely fishing village with only 2 hotels and mostly people from Lisbon. Would go back just for the location.

We had a brilliant time in this area. The hotel itself was all that it was recommended to be. The location was a mere 40 yards from the beach. Make sure you get a front balcony room on the 3rd to 5th floor. The breakfast was very comprehensive. The staff could not have been more helpful and professional. If you like fish, the Sesimbra restaurants on your doorstep are a joy.
It is worth having a car if you intend to spend more than a few days in the region. There is plenty to do and see and Lisbon is 45 minutes away.
Sesimbra itself has kept its identity, although the inevitable development surrounding the old town may affect this in time. Get there now!
The Sana Sesimbra hotel is perfect for those who wish to just chill out or for use as a base to explore. Mind you ,if its wild night life you are seeking, go elsewhere!

A true 4-star hotel: great room with seaview, great breakfast, car park in the basement (5 euro a day), just 40 mins from Lisbon, friendly staff, inside pool and outside jacuzzi at the roof.
