We stayed here for one night in april 08. The hotel itself is well located in Kyoto and price wise isn't bad considering the prices of other hotels. The rooms were a bit tired and needed work. Breakfast was ok but like other reviews the food was cold. Didn't have any problems with tour groups but there were a few in the hotel, we just had breakfast later in the day

I chose the hotel because of the price which was relatively cheap compared to other hotels in the area. Location wise, it is only ~3 minutes walk to the nearest subway station which can then take you to Kyoto station otherwise, it is a 20 minute walk. It is relatively far to the main shopping and eating area, ~20 minutes walk and when you do it every day, 20 min seems very far. There are alot of nearby eateries which was good. The room itself was small and very limited english speaking channels, maybe just the one but the room is clean.

We stayed here for four nights in October. The hotel location we thought was great: two blocks from Gojo subway stop and about a mile walk to Kyoto Station. Cost about 8 yen for a cab when we had all our luggage, but only one subway stop for when we were out sightseeing. Booked a double room, quite roomy, bathroom good sized and clean. Staff very helpful with everything. Breakfast buffet a bit expensive for my budget, but comes with the territory. Had good selection of western and Japanese food items. That's the only food we ate at the hotel. Found the location very convenient to bus, subway and JR travels, and there's a convenience store (Lawsons) on the corner for quick snaks while enroute. TV could have had one english speaking channel with CNN or BBC news, but at least they had english newspapers in the lobby for keeping in touch with the world.
