We were on the top floor and the view was beautiful however the room was tiny. We were in the lowest price range for the room and the room itself was ok and was what you'd expect from a hotel, but our main gripe was with the desk staff that when we discovered our ultra thin pillows and asked for some more pillows, The person on reception told us that that the head of house keeping had left and that he was unable to supply us with any more. With 24 hour reception and a vast pillow menu in the room telling us about the vast array of pillows available to look in our cupboard for them we thought this was fairly ironic and dubious. The location was excellent and next to the metro and shops and only a 10 Euro taxi ride to the airport in the early morning.

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, both in terms of location and service. The hotel was only 15 minutes away from the airport and the cab fare cost us 20 Euro. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been friendlier. The official check-in time was listed for 3p.m. As our flight landed early, we showed up at 10 a.m. and they brought forward the check-in time to 1 p.m. They also hung on to our bags for us while we wandered around. The rooms were quite spacious, very clean and equipped with all mod cons. The only thing lacking was tea and coffee making facilities. Staff at the front desk were always on hand with directions to various metro stations, booking cabs and reserving tables at various restaurants around the city. The hotel itself is on the yellow metro line and you are literally 1 minutes' walk from the nearest station (Saldanha) from which you can access the whole city. In the mornings, you can walk across the road to the Pastelaria for breakfast. They serve assorted local dishes together with excellent coffee for dirt cheap. The only slight downside was the hotel restaurant. On the night we went for dinner, we were the only ones there (never a good sign!). While the food that was served was excellent, the menu was very limited. All in all though, great value for money, friendly staff and very conveniently located for access to public transport around the city.

We stayed at this property on our last night in Portugal during the first week in March. After staying at a different Lisbon hotel earlier in the week, I was glad that we hadn't stayed at the Zenit for the majority of our trip. The location was alright, but to far from the attractions of the city. With that being said it was still a lovely property. The staff was nice, and helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. The beds were even very comfortable. If you are looking for a beautiful hotel that is close to the airport this is a great choice.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for two nights while we were visiting Lisbon. As the other reviewers say it is far from the center, but there is a metro station (Saldanha) as well as a bus stop within walking distance (both 2-3 minutes). The rooms themselves are small but are decorated in a contemporary and fashionable style. They were also very clean and the air conditioning worked great, which we found out was not so in the rest of Portugal. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel or the famed Pasteleria across the street that all the reviewers like to write about, instead we packed cereal bars to save some cash. Most of the staff spoke English. Paulo was especially willing to give suggestions about restaurants and helped us book a Fado show. However, we did feel that he hesitated to give us directions about using the metro to get there (which we wanted to do as we had bought a 24hr metro card). Instead, he suggested we use cabs at night. I think this was because he thought it would be safer. Anyhow, there was a metro stop within walking distance (Baixa-Chiado) to the Sacramento restaurant he recommended the first night. The Saramento was good, but somewhat pricey. If you go try the chicken and be sure to get some sangria. On the other hand, the dinner at Adega Machado where he booked our Fado show was waaaaay overpriced and neither my sister nor I enjoyed our meals. If we had it to do over we would have sought out a less expensive place or simply ordered drinks at Machado while we watched the show (16 Euro minimum). Overall, this is a contemporary hotel with very professional staff that allows access to the sights by public transportation.
