There is a hugh difference between the renovated and non-renovated rooms. The renovated rooms are nice, large and clean. But the non-renovated rooms really need renovation! The breakfast is so-so, the breakfast room is too small for the number of guests. The location is not so good, but easy accesible.

I have never written a bad review for a hotel as somehow a hotel makes up for what it lacks in. Unfortunately this hotel had many problems during our stay that could have been avoided by better management.
We were in Brussels for a conference and had a group booking of 6 rooms.
1. We were unable to check in (we had 6 rooms booked) at the normal check in time, due to the room being occupied for a late check out. So the hotel was making money from the late check outs of our rooms plus our booking. By the time we checked in, it was 5pm! When i said to the lady that we had paid for the room and the check in time was 2pm she simply said no its from 2pm?
2. No aircon or ventilation in my room. No mini bar fridge. the rooms on my floor looked like they were being renovated. the rooms of my travel companions had a mini bar and aircon.
3. Taxi service. One morning we were unable to get a taxi from the hotel and had to walk 15 mins to find a taxi. The hotel staff did not seem to care.
If i was on a holiday the above i could properly live with however as we had travelled for work purposes it was very frustrating for us.
If you are staying at this hotel, there is a small mini mart around the corner. The turkish quarter is a 10 min walk away.
And this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel??

We were a group of more than 20 people, some of the rooms were not ready at 1.30 p.m. when we arrived. In the late evening (11 pm) it was still discussion to get the rooms and one of our members got the key in the end and when she entered the room it was already occupied by someone else (but she could open the door!)
The lobby is clean and modern and you get a nice impression. But the rooms were old and worn. The furniture showed signs of age and lost colour. The red carpet looked filthy. The bedspread was terribly torn as well as the curtain was worn too. The curtain was black instead of white... never cleaned it?
Nevertheless the bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. I had a desk and a table and 2 chairs in the room, no fridge. TV had a good number of programs.
The bathroom was clean, some soap and shampoo were provided, towels were good stuff. There was a bit of mold around the tub. The showerhead was not perfectly fixed at the wall, so I had to hold it during taking a shower.
My room was close to the elevators and the stopping sounds (from all floors) could be heard as an ugly sound and kept me awake for a while. On the other hand I did not hear much from the hallways as I had a second door between entrance door and sleeping room.
Breakfast was served in the basement dining rooms, 2 big rooms, with a small buffet. 2 kinds of sausages, 1 kind of cheese, some eggs and bacon, muesli and flakes, some fresh rolls and bred. Staff there was very slowly working, for an hour they did not manage to clean up used tables.
The hotel is situated in the north of Bruxelles, 7 minutes walk to the Train Station North and about half an hour walking time to the Main Square in Town. There is World Trade Center close by and lots of skyscrapers along the street leading to city center. Across from the hotel entrance is a big building site where they seem to build another skyscraper. The back of the hotel (where my room was looking at) is adjacent to a small park. There is a taxi stand outside the lobby and a few restaurants that are cheaper than those in city center along the big street south.
The hotel provides a cafe/ bar and a restaurant as well as a fitness and small spa center.

Reasonably quiet (on "park" side, second floor) but my room was very tired. Too easy to hear conversations in the corridor and adjoining room. I hope my snoring did not keep someone awake! Reception staff made it obvious that I was a nuisance for booking a non-smoking room and I was lucky to get one.
Breakfast OK if you're not too fussed about hot coffee.
Not bothered by the works that were obviously going on, but I did arrive back from the city at 2350 (tram stop Rue de Progres) and checked out at 0845.
