Nice 3-star accommodation in Lourdes

This is a nice, typical 3-star French hotel---nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. We booked a "superior" room, which was on the back of the hotel and had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the Pyrenees. It was a bit of a hike to the grotto, but I would not have wanted to stay close to the grotto because that area is way too crowded and touristy. I would definitely stay here again.

Beausejour - one of the best hotels we have stayed in

We stayed at the Beausejour for the fifth year in a row in February. The Hotel is directly opposite the Railway station so is a little way from the Sancturies. It takes us about 10/15 minutes to walk down (it is quite a steep walk back). For all its proximity to the station we have never been bothered by any noise and it is most convenient when arriving by train. The TGV's make travelling to the rest of France convenient. Indeed being a little out of town makes it quieter during the season than in the centre where most of the hotels are located. Try and get a room at the rear of the hotel where there are excellent views over the town and to the Pyrenees. There is a sun terrace at the rear together with an open air part of the restaurant which is great for the good weather. They have recently added a swimming pool in the garden. There is ample car parking space.
The hotel is clean and welcoming, the staff are very friendly and efficient. The restaurant serves excellent food from either a good table d'hotel menu or on an a la carte basis. Breakfasts are more extensive than those we have usually found in France. The rooms in which we have stayed have been light an airy with a small balcony with a couple of chairs for the good weather. The rooms are clean and comfortable with the usual en suite facilities.
Lourdes is a good base for touring as well as visiting the Grotto and this hotel makes a welcoming place to return to after a hard day on the road or visiting the Sanctuaries.

We got off the TGV across the street. There is a cute bar on the street level and we took our roll ons over for a Ricard. Asked if there was a room and we had a beautiful room with a nice view of the Pyranees and of the Castel. Bells ringing all the time. Just heaven. We walked to the Grotte several times and had a wonderful meal using my nose to find the best restaurant in town. With my knee going we will hop the bus across the street next time but walking down avenue of the grotte is a total trip. Before you cross the bridge to enter the grounds Lourdes, stop and have a Kir Royal and enjoy the roaring river and count your blessings as you see all the very sick and disabled folks on their way to the Grotte. We have stayed 4 times 3 at the Beausejour. There are zillions of hotels for very reasonable prices. We dined at the Excelsior for a song and it was really wonderful. Have fun and get healed. It works.

Hôtel Beauséjour was built in 1900, it is posh and very welcoming. It has all the upgrades needed.
We had room 117, in the back of the hôtel, facing the majestic Pyrenées. The french doors opened on a long balcony, very private and furnished with 2 chairs and table for perfect viewing of the evening mountain storms. The furniture was in good taste, the bed large and comfortable. The bath-room was roomy and light with a its own window fully opening into the courtyard.
We had only reserved for one night and decided to stay 3 more nights.
The hôtel is up on the hill, 200 meters from the train station which makes it very convenient to catch an early train to Biarritz or to Pau. Internet is available for one Euro per 10 minutes and the copious break-fast is served in the main dining-room for 10 Euros. The staff had impeccable manners and ready to help.
We were very pleased by the value of Hôtel Beauséjour.
