I was just in this hotel 2 days ago with a Universtiy Touring group. We were put up in this hotel by a festival at which we were playing so we didn't quite know what we were getting into. Had we known, i'm sure we'd have made other arragements. I am surprised this is a 2 or 3 star hotel. It should have negative stars. There was hair in the shower, there wasn't anything on the bed but a sheet covering the mattress and an old old old quilt that i'm sure hadn't been washed in ages. I put a T-Shirt i brought on the pillow as i slept so my face would have to touch it. I felt grimy and it was extremely run down. Our TV didn't work, and the front desk service i encountered wasn't helpful, wasn't kind and i felt as though they were looking down their nose at me. Some members of the touring group had things stolen out of their room by a hotel attendant, and had the "room service" show up to their rooms at unreasonably early times in the morning even though they all had "do not disturb" signs on their doors. When confronted the manager denied that such a thing could have happened because it was "their policy that they don't enter rooms with do not disturb signs on the doors." The workers, in their case, are aparantly more improtant than the customer. Also, some room locks didn't work and it is in a very shady neighborhood. STAY AWAY. Do not come. Stay away. Spend your money elsewhere. I was very uncomfortable, and unsatisfied here. The walls are paper thin, everything felt dirty and it is not a good place to be. The breakfast was the only redeeming part. There was variety. The hot breakfast was really greasy..but there was variety with creals, breads, and pastries.

I am surprised that this hotel has three star rating. It was dirty and in very poor state of repair. Black Mould growing in the drain.Towels dirty and torn, furnishing and fittings falling off the wall. Sheets dirty, excrement in the toilet from the previous customer I presume. Staff that appear to be only interested in collecting payment not helpful. Rooms very cold heater does not work. One of the better room which I asked to be moved to was no better. The bath was dirty the carpet needed cleaning.

When I got out of the taxi, the driver asked me if the place I worked for was trying to get rid of me by booking a room in this seedy hotel. The place is dirty, run down, depressing, and in a major need of a refurb. A total demolision would be kinder. The furniture looked like it had been salvaged from a city dump. The room heater was partly hanging off the wall and the TV did not work. The breakfast was OK except for the hairs that I found on my plate. On a positive note, the staff were pleasant enough. I can't believe that anyone would give this hotel a good value for money appraisal. You can stay at a Premier Inn for the same price and get a far better facility. STAY AWAY from this dump.

I stayed in this hotel with my 2 daughters after a long day out in birmingham. The staff were helpful, the room was nice and clean, sheets clean, towels etc fine. Dinner was ok, Breakfast excellent. I booked this hotel before reading trip advisor and was very worried about staying in the hotel after reading some of the comments left. It was good value for money and whilst the long corridors were in need of some TLC the room itself was very nice. Good big room with plenty of storage space and everything all nice and clean. Staff were helpful and attentive, the photo on web site is misleading but I was quite happy with the room and would stay there again.

I dont usually write reviews, but I had to after I stayed one night at this awful hotel. It was stinky, old, dirty, rubbish, disgraceful..etc etc. My room was so old, my bed sheets were dirty, the toilet's taps were leaky, the shower hardly gave me water, tv was old etc etc. Basically please please please avoid it!
