Lebua: Nice Rooms But The Policies are overwhelming

The best part of Lebua are the rooms and views. Beyond that the hotel has liittle to offer for people on vacation. Our stay, to say the least, was not enjoyable due to several issues we faced at the hotel. To start with, the checkin process was a hassle, finally we had to summon the manager to resolve. Second, Lebua is like a high end apartment building then a 5-star luxury hotel. The hotel has set up several policies that do not cater to guests, rather to non-guests that frequent the roof-top bars and restaurant.s Guest privacy is non existent! The hotel lobby is small and underwhelming, with no travel services and other amenities you find in a luxury hotel.
Bottom line, the hotel is probably ok for business travel but I do NOT recommend this hotel for people on vacation or travelling as a family.

Great hotel... Great room... Great service...
I just didn't know where we were... Since I usually stay at the Peninsula, it was hard to get my bearings. We walked around the neighborhood a bit, something you can't really do at the Peninsula being on the other side of the river, but didn't find anything of interest.
The bar and restaurant on the higher floors seemed to be quite popular. However the dress code wasn't very friendly for those of us that were headed to the beach (and didn't have anything but beachwear). Those of us with "not-so-smart" casual attire were relegated to walking a few blocks down the street to the Holiday Inn and imbibing at their lobby bar, Jameson's.
Overall, the rooms are great and with the bar/lounge and restaurant being such attractions, I'd consider staying here again.
The only thing you've got to realize when you stay at places toward the river is that you're not really close to where the action is... for that, you should stay somewhere along Sukhumvit.

Not very much to add. Front desk was not impressive. No hostess escort (we had two riverview suites@ 59 floor). Lot of security all over the place, e.g. taxis trunk checked. Views outstanding, housekeeping worked niced. Will look elseware next trip.

Stunning views over the river and the city. 66 square metres is a very big space. The bathroom is bigger than most hotel bedrooms. Luxurious king size bed must have been 7 foot by 7 foot. Super soft great sleep. Too much choice for breakfast better than anything in Europe. Wonderful staff on all the floors.
Bit weird going for a swim. Have a shower first then walk down some slate (slippery) steps along a carpet walk way then out to the pool with a similar trip back from the pool dripping wet! They really should build an exit from the changing rooms straight out to the pool. Never the less a great hotel in a great location near the main river pier and Saphin Thaksin skytrain station.
