I cant praise this place enough. This is a historic building and even if you aren't privelaged enough to stay in the triple height, fresco ceilinged, grand canal viewed rooms you can still enjoy the splendour of this ancient jewel during breakfast or even just while checking in, the whole building oozes history, art and romance. Expensive but a a real treat. Only 10mins from SanMarco and boat stop right outside. Defintely visit the market on the opposite side of the canal and the gorgeous low key italian eaterie called Vini da Gigio nearby, best italian I've ever had.

My husband and I booked a 3 night package at this beautiful palazzo comme hotel/museum through luxurylink as the finale to an 11 day tour through Italy in June. By the end of our stay, we were in love with Venice, and felt we could not have picked a better hotel. Our suite was absolutely beautiful and plush with a bedroom, 2 sitting rooms, and a marble bathroom. Aside from the beauty of the hotel, the staff was accomodating to a fault, and the included breakfast provided variety and was an enjoyable way to begin the day. Ca Sagredo is in a wonderful location right at the Ca d'Oro vaporetto stop and conviently located midway on the grand canal. I would not hesitate to return for the staff, the location, and sheer beauty.

My fiance and I stayed at Ca'Sagredo two weeks ago for four nights. This was the start of a two week visit ending in Rome and incuded visits to Rimini and Orvieto. I was a bit tentative when booking the hotel because of some earlier reviews on the "museum like" atmosphere but frankly, we found it relaxing after a hectic day of touring. Like many of the hotels in Europe, our first room had two combined beds and they did their best to minimize our discomfort but that split can get pretty annoying. We requested another room and midway through our stay we were moved to a corner room with a spectacular full length view of the canal. Both rooms were spacious, well appointed (TV/seating area), great AC and appeared brand new. Breakfast was great (quiet and a balanced selection) and our biggest regret was not having eaten downstairs in the hotel's restaurant. While the dining room is pretty austere, there are beautiful tables on a small wharf on the canal that are as special (intimate) and as close as you're going to get to canal dining that we encountered. The location is balanced as while it's on the grand canal (where else would you want to be?), it was within relatively easy walking distance to St. Marks (15-20min) and nearby campos where Venetians still live and dine. I personally could not have envisioned staying in a hotel close to the madness. Overall, no complaints (plenty to cheer) and to boot, the lowest price per night we paid in Italy! If you're looking for a party palace this is not the place but if you're looking for a sanctuary, Ca'Sagredo fits the bill.

This is an amazing museum-hotel. From the moment we docked and walked directly into the foyer we were met with professioinalism and courtesy befitting the majesty of the surroundings. Silvia M. commanded the front desk, her smile, and the English language with grace. The tour of the hotel was offered by the concierge en route to our suite and was quite informative. I suggest taking an extra 10-15 minutes for this experience. Our room (304) was amazing. A sitting area with private patio to the interior, full bath/shower, and bedroom with windows opening directly onto the Grand Canal. I stress this point...directly over the Grand Canal. Some hotels in this price range offer a Grand Canal view but you must look over or beyond (and hear) 2000 people waiting in line to board tour boats to Murano to view the canal.
Hotel service was excellent. On both days we had 3 room services. The hotel kept track of our arrivals and departures and dinner reservations and used these opportunities to bring chocolate covered strawberries, candies, towels, linens, etc. Three times per day on both days. I was impressed.
The restaurant was impressive, as well. A la carte or 3 course chef's selection menu at reasonable prices (the selection menu comes with a bottle of wine for 60 Euro). Mauritzio and Roberto are cheerful, knowledgeable, professional and quite funny. We ate 3 of our 4 meals in Venice under their care.
A dock of Gondoliers, a private water taxi dock, and a vaporetto dock are within steps of this splendid addition to the hotels of Venice.
