We have just returned from a few days in Prague having stayed at this hotel and it was fantastic. We were a little dubious as we had read some negaive reviews of the accommodation. However the room was great - fairly large, spotlessly clean, all of the amenities you would require - en-suite, sitting and dining area, very comfortable bed, TV, small kitchenette - all furnished to a very high standard. All of the staff we met were very helpful and friendly and the location was great. Breakfast offered a very wide choice and was served on the top floor with lovely views over the city. Great place, great value and great location - what more could you want!

We have just returned from a three day break to Prague and stayed in the Accome Julis Hotel. It was much better than we expected and really great value for money. We had a spacious room with mini bar and full self catering unit so we could eat in if we wanted to. The weather was very cold but the room was so comfortable and warm with a great view onto Wencelas Square so we could just watch the snow fall and the people hurry by...
Breakfast was excellent, there was a great variety to suit all tastes.
We will definitely use this hotel again when we return to Prague (in warmer weather)
Staff were very helpful and everyone spoke English. The entrance to the hotel is a lift to the 4th floor where reception is located. We had noticed this on previous reviews of this hotel - it is not an issue; strange maybe, but not a problem in any sense of the word.
The location is absolutely perfect. All areas of interest in Prague are easily accessible on foot. One thing we noted was that prices in restaurants etc vary quite a bit.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. Having read the reviews on this site, I specifically asked, at the time of booking, for a rear room so as to avoid the noise.
When we got there, we discovered on opening the room door that we had got a front room - as soon as the door opened, all you could hear was racket from the street. We thought we would see how it went for the first night.
Unfortunately, for that night and the other three, we barely got a wink of sleep. Drunks, traffic, roadworks (every morning, including sunday, from before 6am) - the window was triple glazed and we were on the 7th floor, but the noise was unbearable. The room was also like daylight because of a huge floodlit sign across the street and no curtains on our window.
We complained but the receptionist couldnt have cared less, she told us they were full and the only available room was a twin (hardly ideal for a romantic break) and we would have to pay more. We refused, and so were stuck with no sleep for the entire duration of our stay. While we were complaining, another guest came down to complain for the same reason. Receptionist was just surly, rude and uninterested.
Some others here have said, ask for a rear room and youll be ok - but dont trust the hotel to bother taking any notice of your request.
The room was ok, clean and nice enough, though certainly not worth the almost £100 a night we paid.
Avoid.

Firstly we were charged a different price from that which we were originally quoted, an extra 25 Euro for currency conversion.
Also we were lead to believe that the fitness center was part of the package but was actually 8 Euro extra per person per day.
The accommodation was only average and very noisy at night, much nicer hotels down around old town square.
Finally the staff were very unhelpful and abrupt.
