I stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and more or less the standard hasn't changed.
Good location if you want to be in the Eixample, it's about 10 to 15 mins walk to Paseig de Gracia (for shopping) and Ramblas, but at night you'd want to use taxis to get around.
Rooms are nice and comfy, even though they are starting to show the first signs of wear and tear (which is not that stilish to me).
This time I tried the breakfast room (breakfast was included in the room rate): there's a good variety of food and nice wholemeal croissants (never seen these before), but not sure the whole lot is worth ? 15,00 per person per day (if you have to pay it separately)?
Pool is very small and the gym is tiny (more like a small area with free weights and a treadmill rather than gym). Still a good option if you just want to burn the extra calories from an evening out eating tapas :-).
Overall a good hotel with good services and a decent standard, but don't expect the Hilton or Mandarin Oriental! :-D

We reserved parking at the hotel and even phoned the hotel to confirm this. Upon arrival the receptionist told us in a very rude and dismissive manner that the parking was full and that we'd have to park elsewhere. The elsewhere turned out to cost 23 euros a day and was quite far from the hotel. My husband then asked to see the manager who was even less accomodating and extremely unpleasant. She had a contradicting story and said that the parking had flooded. She also pointed out that a person should choose a hotel for the room and not the parking!
There was also a terrible smell of sewage in the elevator which also filled our room and did not make for a very romantic ambiance (perhaps it was the flooded carpark.)
At times there was no hot water and we ended up taking cold showers.
We were all in all rather disappointed with the hotel and do not think it is worthy of 4 stars.

Stayed here for 3 nights from 1st - 4th February with a group of 8 girls. The hotel is lovely, modern, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The only thing that upset us was that when we arrived at the hotel around 5.00 p.m. that we were told the kitchens don't open until 8.30 p.m. and we couldn't get anything at the bar or any room service. The kitchens are open from 7.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. then from 8.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m.. In between those times there is no food available. We went out in search of somewhere to eat but there is not many restaurants around the area.
The hotel itself is a 10-15 min walk to Las Ramblas when you get your bearings but the hotel ring for taxis for you and they are very cheap.
The breakfast was nice with a great variety of foods both hot and cold. Plenty of bread, cakes, fruit, youghurt, cheese, meats, salmon, juices and cooked foods, e.g. omlettes, sausages, rashers, eggs. I tried some of the cooked foods and didn't really like them so I just stuck with toast, cheese & ham.
The bar is quite small but the drink is very cheap. We had a few there before heading off to different locations.
All in all I would stay there again but would prefer a hotel nearer the sites and within short walks of restaurants and bars etc..
We didn't use the spa or pool facilities. We tried to book some treatments before we went but were told there was no facilities. I think maybe the staff didn't understand us but there are lovely treatments available, we just didn't avail!
We had to fly to Reus Airport as our flights were cancelled to Barcelona. We used the bus transfer from Reus to Barcelona for ?20 return. The only thing was the bus company only put one coach on and that was full, they did organise a 2nd coach after about 20 minutes. Coming back on it the same thing happened and this was a bit of a mess and there was a delay too. We didn't miss our flight but it just added to the travelling times so I would definitely fly directly into Barcelona the next time I travel there.
We went on the open top bus on the Sunday but the heavens opened and we didn't get to see many sites, but these things happen and we'll just have to return to see them again!!

This hotel is situated about 15 minute walk from Las Ramblas but there is a metro station 2 mins away with a direct line to the main tourist area. The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful, although we did not use the spa or swimming pool there is free internet access on each floor for guests to use. Breakfast was ok but as it was not included in our booking it was expensive at 13 euros each. Our room was ok in size however the walls are very thin and you can hear everthing in the corridor but did not affect our enjoyment.

I spent only few days in Barcelona and needed to stay in a hotel with a close location to the main attractions. I was travelling with my wife and 2 years old daughter so we were looking for some quiet location.
The hotel was just exactly what we were looking for. It's really new, with well furnished rooms and wide range of services. The junior suite we took surprised us: it offered a lot of space and comfort. Big plasma in the living room, some smaller LCD in the bedroom, jaccuzzi, shower and a lot of stuff that came out to be really helpful as one of our bag had been lost during the trip.
The staff is really friendly and helpful, no problem with english and arranging things.
You can find bus stops and subway station close to the hotel and it takes only 15 minutes to get the to the main square of the city.
We spent there wonderful time and it acctually convinced us it's possible to go around and visit cities having a lot of fun with a small kid.
