Visited Venice for a 3 night city visit and stayed at the Ambassador Tre Rose. We were impresssed. The hotel is ideally placed just behind the Piazza San Marco [the heart of the city]. It is a typical small, old style, big city European hotel. Although the rooms are very small they are very clean, well decorated and the ensuite shower/toilet facility is well appointed. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day with changes of good quality towels and linen. Continental breakfast was served in a sister hotel just across the the street (20metres distant). There was a good, varied choice of food and beverages.Fresh fruit was available. Surrounded by good value restaurants this hotel is ideal for a short sight-seeing visit. Be prepared for an expensive visit though, Venice is an expensive place.

The hotel was nice and clean, as were the rooms and staff were very friendly. Ideally situated just behind St Marks Square - easy to find. No cooked breakfasts, however, plenty of choice for cereals and pastries. Would definately stay in this hotel again for a city break. Discovered the Winter months are a good time to visit, as not many queues for tourists attractions and easy access on public transport. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and looking forward to our next visit to Venice.

When I first arrived at Tre Rose, I was initially disappointed.
The Way it is presented, the locality, the decor was indifferent.
When we were first shown to the room,I looked at my wife, she looked at me and we knew we had to move.
The staff happily moved us,but it took for us to ask for a different Hotel, that they gave us a Private suite at the top of the 4th Floor.
I think I am in a good position to review The Tre Rose as I have seen their worst & best rooms.
Dont get me wrong, their worst isnt awfull, just....uninspired. This is Venice after all! It was clean, tidy, nice bed. It was however small, and dated.
The Private suite was much bigger, felt much more luxurious, but still a bit on the dated side. But very clean and very quiet.
Big pluses for the Tre Rose were the staff, who exceded themselves,to make sure we were happy, especially the half Italian/half Brit receptionist!
Breakfasts were all you could eat and pretty good.
We left satisfied with the Hotel, but Blown away by Venice. This is a must see location.
As a footnote,From the waterbus head for St Marks Square, cross the square and take the 3rd right before the end,you will be almost opposite the Hotel. Enjoy !!!

This hotel has got great location. We have booked through Lastminute com for 3 nights for £280. So price wasn't to bad at all. We wanted to stay in Venice and walk so this hotel was great.
It is not luxury but clean, air conditioned worked really well. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is standard and overall I think it is good value for money.

Despite all the other reviews we read, this hotel was quite good.
It's a great base, as the square is only one minute walk away.
The people are extremely friendly and willing to help.
The rooms are of adequate size if you go there not expecting luxury.
Breakfast is basic, but there are great cakes in packets. Cereal, chese, ham, yoghurts, croissants....
There's a great ice cream shop on that road!
