vacanza con ragazzi luglio 2007 da Firenze eravamo in 6, in 2 camere hotel bello, pulito, (le camere un pò meno!) colazione +++che ottima posizione , tremenda , tanta confusione dalla strada, sempre ! la notte non si riusciva a dormire! camere piccole, x fortuna dopo varie richiese , ci hanno spostato in camere migliori. personale, non buono. a parte che non sapevano una parola di italiano, erano scontrosi e si sono comportati male ,addebitandoci delle consumazioni extra che non avevamo preso dal bar nelle camere! sinceramente , ci siamo rimasti molto male, non abbiamo pagato , ma non essere creduti ,essere considerati non onesti , è sato la cosa che ci ha lasciato un brutto ricordo! sono quelle situazioni che è difficile gestire , le camere non sono frequentate solo da noi ! la chiave ce l'hanno in tanti! non consiglierei questo hotel,se non cambiano il personale!

Judging on the reports read, we decided to go ahead and book this hotel but taking into consideration the advise on noise of bells and traffic, asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel. The room we were first shown was so small that you could not walk around the bed comfortably without banging into the wall so we asked for a larger room. The next room was larger somewhat and we decided for the four days that we would be here it would suffice. All looked good, nice and clean and fairly comfortable but hard beds. The bathroom was extremely small and you had to fight your way around the door to reach the toilet. The airconditioning froze us in the night, even tho' we turned it down, but during the day was virtually non-existant. NOT GOOD. Unbeknown to us and unmentioned by the hotel staff, our room was right oposite a bar and right on cue at 4 a.m. - kicking out time presumably, a horrendous noise of shouting, screetching and supposedly singing ensued. Then the noise in the hotel started, banging of doors, clack calcking of heels on tiled floors, shouting, toilets flushing which at that time of the night sounded like the Niagera Falls and all the usual drunken revellery noises. We are not kill joys at all but we do expect a little consideration from other people in hotels as we give to them. The hotel staff did not seem the least bit interested in the disturbance every night either. All in all we would NOT recommend a stay in this hotel unless you enjoy all or some of the above and we certainly shall not be repeating the experience.

I arrived here on the 17th May, the weather in the 30s. We had a top floor room with balcony that faced the old castle. Our room was comfy with air conditioning and mini bar. The hotel itself was clean, and only 5 mins from the beach, and 10 mins from the nightlife. 5 mins left out of the hotel there was a pretty little courtyard, with a nice Italian restaurant. On Sundays there is a local flea market with tons of bargains! I stayed here for 3 nights, what with the nice weather, the beach being 5 mins away along with the marina, nice nightlife and lovely places to eat, it was a well enjoyed stay by all. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good english.

Hotel muy justito en todos los sentidos. De lo peor, algún empleado: tuve problemas con el televisor de la habitación y, aunque me lo solucionaron, el recepcionista no podía dar crédito a que no funcionara correctamente!!! El desayuno, para valer 10 euros, no está a la altura: no hay nada de fruta fresca. Las habitaciones son pequeñitas, aunque el baño es espacioso. Y lo peor: pedí un benjamín y... no tenía ni gas. Debía ser de hace bastantes años. Me arruinaron mi estancia. Lo mejor, la situación: el autobús del aeropuerto te deja justo al lado, y el hotel está en el casco antiguo, junto al castillo y el ayuntamiento.

Ideally located for marina, shops, restaurants, Santa Barbara castle, Old Quarter and tram/train up the coast. Room adequate and bathroom good but windows not double glazed so you will notice traffic noise from the busy, narrow streets around the hotel.....the routine Spanish stress-buster for traffic jams seems to be to the enthusiastic sounding of horns!! Tip........take ear plugs or try and secure an inside room. Another tip........take a travel kettle to make drinks in your room. Breakfast buffet is good for a small hotel....cereals, fruit, croissants, hams and cheeses, etc. (Thankfully,no greasy fry-ups!) Does not serve lunch or dinner. For genuine Spanish food can recommend Casa Ibarra and Villahelmy on Calle Mayor...a couple of streets back from the hotel. If raining (it does!), then look left from the hotel entrance and you see a Chinese restaurant a few yards away....decent food and incredible value. Hotel staff all excellent : very helpful and pleasant. Tips for booking:- 1)Do it via Sol Melia website and look for discounts a couple of months before you travel....we got 50% reduction. If you have to book earlier you can, then cancel and rebook if you see discounts offered nearer your travel date! 2)Join the Sol Melia MAS Rewards card scheme.......even if you don't expect to stay with them again. It costs you nothing and it means you get benefits like you pay for your breakfast and your wife gets hers free! Do this at the time of booking so you have your card number before you travel. My wife and I just spent 5 nights here for 260 Euros (about £190) for Bed & Breakfast : pretty good value. In short, a great place to stay for a few nights, but beware the traffic noise. You will enjoy the musical church bells though!
