Bit disappointed with this hotel, very English and felt a bit clostrophobic with all the corridors of rooms! But thats what you get with this type of hotel. Very inpersonal. But ok as a base!
Room was small and decor was very old fashioned.
Big selection of breakfast buffet.
Nice pool area. Cafe by pool not so great. There is a nice place for lunch or dinner if you come out of the hotel and turn right.
Our air-con did not work for the entire stay and we were told that no re-embursment would be made to us even though we went to reception every day and were told it would be sorted.
A number of beaches accessible with a car, santa ponsca, magaluf, porta vells, Bendinat.
Port Andrax is nice for the evening - 15 mins drive.
Port Portals is a beautiful port with beautiful boats to look at, about 10 mins walk from the hotel with expensive restaurants along the front. If you walk through to the back of the port there are lots more which looked cheaper. If you cant afford the expensive ones then its nice to go for a coffee at capucchinos and people watch! or go to the bars around the back!

Just back from a weeks stay at the hotel marina portals. Arrived to the hotel at 1am by taxi from the airport which cost us about 30euro. Checked in easily. Room was spotless and very comfortable. It's all you need for a sun holiday considering how little time you actually spend in the room. Breakfast in the morning is fine particularly if you like frsh fruit, bread, pastries etc. The hot buffet and omlette station were also fine if a bit tasteless. The pool area was spacious mid week and filled up at the weekend as the hotel seems to be a popular spot for people on long weekends. If you want a shaded spot it's advisable to put down your towels in the morning before breakfast, not a fan of this practice but it was common. Although the hotel does provide pool towels on a deposit basis most people bring their own as the hotel towels aren't that big and have seen better days. There is a pool bar which provides lunch, snacks and drinks. We had a salad there one day and it was basically a bowl of lettuce and very little else. Wouldn't recommend it for food.
Portal Nous can be divided into two areas, the village where the hotel is and then the more exclusive marina area.
Because the hotel is such good value we ate mostly in the marina area. Flanigans on the first night. It wasn't a good experience. I found a small piece of glass in my starter which I sent back to the kitchen and which was returned to me with the explanation that it was in fact rock salt. It definitely wasn't as my starter of prawns in garlic butter was incredibly hot and any rock salt would long have melted before I founfd the glass. On paying the restaurant didn't even have the decency to remove the dish from the bill until I argued this point. I have eaten in many fine restaurants across Europe and the Middle East and found their whole attitude insulting. Thankfully all our other experinces were good, particularly Spoon which is at the far end of the marina from Wellies, Binnacle beside Wellies was also good. For a nice cocktail after dinner try the Moet and Chandon Bar beside Tristan restaurant.
Overall we had a lovely stay

Spent 4 nights at the Marina Portals. For the price good value for money (especially considering the area). It is located at the top of the hill with easy access to the marina and beach. A solid 4 star hotel its only real failing being the poor qaulity of the food.
Only a 5 minute walk to panorama beach which is lovely. Portals Nous is a millionaires play groud however so bring a full wallett!!
Only 5 minutes from Palma Nova and 10 from Palma so great location.

We stayed in June and the weather was glorious. The breakfast was very good with a great selection including champagne !
The hotel is clean and rooms are a good size. Our room overlooked the pool area and gardens which were well kept. Chico from X factor was staying at hotel and was such a nice guy who chatted to us and was happy to have photographs taken.
The village is right outside the hotel with restaurants and bars. I recommend Jos'e across the road. The food is excellent and the portions are very good. The Irish bar next door is good with a half decent Kariokie
If you enjoy people watching then the marina a short walk down the hill is a must. You can see how the other half live. A triple rollover on the Euro lottery wouldnt get you into this club but its great to see how the other half live. Barbara Windsor frquents the Flamingo restaurant which is very busy for dinner. We ate at the Diablo restaurant which again was very good with good sized portions. Try the mexican wraps there great. Also a great place to people watch.
I would recommend the hotel and the Marina and would definately go again.

This hotel is perfectly located for Port Portals which is the port where all the seriously well off hang out.The hotel is a poor 4* but for the price is very reasonable (i paid ?59 per night) Have stayed at this hotel several times and its always vey clean and the staff are reaonably helpful. The pool area is excellent if a little small for the size of hotel.
The Port is fantastic with plenty of places to eat/drink and people watch
