This is a modern comfortable hotel just outside the historic centre. It’s a bit of a hike up to the old town but taxis are plentiful and cheap. Our room was fine and was comfortable enough for a couple of nights. It was at the front of the hotel and overlooked a fairly busy main road but we slept OK despite the fact there was no aircon so we had to leave the window open slightly. The beds were fine and the bathroom good, the walk in shower was great.
The staff though were excellent. We didn’t arrive until fairly late and we hadn’t eaten properly for a while so it was great to discover the caf? at the front of the hotel served food till 11.00 pm. We had a pretty decent meal and the waiter couldn’t have been more helpful. We were the only ones eating and I can think of umpteen hotels I’ve been to in the past who wouldn’t have been bothered under those circumstances. He even popped back a couple of time to ask if everything was OK and was the wine he’d chosen to our taste. He was a really nice bloke. The reception staff were also very good and found a continental adaptor for us when we said we’d brought an Egyptian one by mistake.
All in all, an excellent start to our holiday and just what we needed to kick things off. Despite the fact the hotel’s not central, I’d recommend it.

We stayed for 3 nights the hotel was great, clean and quiet. The breakfast was adequate self service. There is no coffee making facilities in the room but the hotel has a cafe bar street side where you can purchase drinks and food and stays open till midnight (there is a minibar in the room) If you turn left out of the hotel and up the hill on the left after the steps there are a couple of good local resturants/bars and on the right is an octopus tapas bar which is very good and their local red wine is excellent and very cheap. The old town is about a 20 mins walk or a taxi is about 5 euros. The station is a turn right out of the hotel and a 20 mins brisk walk there is a good Sunday market in Padron it has a nice old centre where you can sit in the square at a bar and watch the world go by. We would use this hotel again.

Liked hotel. About 10 to 15 minutes stroll to City center. Rooms on top floor do not have access to lifts. But attic rooms were spacious. I had read helpful advice about underground parking. It did not prepare me for surprisingly steep and twisting access to hotel underground parking. Almost 1:1 slope. Caution needed for motorcycles. Even my friends on GS's were wary. On exiting, Get a friend to walk up to open exit shutters before accent. Parking 3 bikes in one generous car space cost only 8 Euro. Lift went down to garage.

I booked this on booking.com, and the rate was very decent at EUR70 + EUR8.60 for breakfast per person. The location is excellent, about 180m from the Bus station. You exit the hotel, turn left and then turn left again at the steps leading up. This will lead you to the main road leading to the old town. The rooms are very big and spacious, and had a kettle to make coffee. They gave us a non-smoking room as requested. The room was well heated, and the breakfast was tasty and substantial. The staff spoke good English and could advise us on anything we asked them. Most people outside didn't speak English, so having a local guide in the hotel does help a lot. This will probably be very expensive during July, with the Feast of St. James.

Stayed in this hotel over Easter 2008 and generally it was a positive experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable and are a decent size. The reception area and lobby are welcoming and friendly and there's a nice cafe/bar in the lobby which was absolutely buzzing with people in the weekday mornings. The staff were friendly and helpful, though not English speaking. The location isn't bad - it's about a 10-12 minute walk to the Cathedral in the heart of the old town. A cab back to the hotel at night took 5 minutes and cost ?7.
