OK - though I would try somewhere else if I returned to Oviedo

The hotel is well located, on the boundary between the old (Cathedral, Fine Arts Museum) and modern (shops, offices) cities. On weekdays, the bus to the airport stops outside the hotel.
Rooms are large and have recently been modernised. Decor is attractive, modern and light (light green walls, light parquet flooring) with good lighting. The shower room is well lit, has light green tiles, a walk-in shower, and modern fittings: a plexiglass washbasin and stand. CNN and two german language channels (RTL and EUROSPORT) as well as a range of Spanish TV. Thick curtains that keep out the light. Non-smooking floor. (Note: judging by differences in room doors, I am not sure that all rooms have been modernised - might be worth checking when you book)
Breakfast offers a particularly large selection from the buffet. Squeeze your own orange juice (electric juicer), Asturian specialities including pancakes.
Then some buts: walls are thin - I could hear my neighbour's singing and my other neighbour?s violin practice. There are signs that the refurbishments had been done on the cheap as some of the fittings do not fit: the door to the bathroom jams and cannot be closed; the window is off one of its hinges; the handle for holding the shower head onto the vertical rail has broken and the shower head has been fixed with tape. On one occasion the temperature of the water supply to the shower varied wildly. On one day, the shower toiletries (anyway of low quality) were not replenished. Once the room was not made up until after 14:00, and the bedspread that I had taken off my bed was just dumped on the other. Although I was booked for three days, my magnetic card for the room door was charged up for one.
Where does that leave me? I still thought it was OK value, the 'buts' did not spoil my holiday. I think the aim of the hotel is to be a standard issue modern hotel - it has no particular charme, so it must rely on relentless efficiency, which it does not have. So, well, if I was booked into this hotel again I would not despair. But if I was coming to Oviedo again I would try somewhere else to see if it was better.
One further point: if you have difficulties with stairs, then note that the lifts are a short flight of steps up from reception and that the breakfast room is several flights of steps away from the lift.

Beautiful rooms with clean, modern decor and good wood floors open onto a sea of red tile roofs and the cathedral. A splurge for "superior" is under 150 euros and gets you sitting room, furnished balcony, double jacuzzi and the only king-sized bed in all of Spain. Big terry robes, complimentary fruit tray. Very friendly and efficient staff. We will stay there when we return to Oviedo, which will be as soon as possible.
