We have stayed in the Hesperia a number of times (and indeed have a further trip planned next weekend), its an ideal base for the city of Murcia. Very close to the cathederal and its Plaza, where we enjoy our breakfast. We have yet to have breakfast in the hotel, although hear it is very nice.
Hotel staff mostly do not speak English, but are always friendly enough. Its not a problem though if you can only get by with limited Spanish. Reception is modern and clean. Rooms are quite large and always very clean. Some rooms don't have great views, so if this will bother you ask for a room facing the front of the hotel.
Hotel does have parking, although be warned it is tight, so if you usually head for the easier option when parking, you'd be better off parking in the car park just around the corner.
This place really is great value for money!

Right in the heart of the old city, location couldn't be better. The hotel is a typical business class 3 star, albeit a good one thanks to some recent refurbishment.
The place is very clean and bright, rooms ok for size but no drawers if there for a longer stay, walls pretty thin if you have neighbours but all in all very good value for the price.
Transport from Murcia airport is poor, only 3 buses a day, 7 euros if you happen to able to catch one, taxi 45-50 euros.
Getting around Murcia by foot is easy and the train station is only 15 mins walk away with regular trains to neighbouring cities at very reasonable prices - about 6-7 euros for a 2 hour round trip.
We visited in Dec and didn't meet a single Brit so if you want to sample the real Spain then it's the place for you and I doubt you would find a better placed or priced hotel.

Perfect - right in the centre of town, no fuss, very easy, decent rooms (although no views, but doubt anywhere would due to narrow streets). Clean hotel. Friendly staff. Parking was extremely tight going up the different levels but by the second day you get much better!! Seconds from the cathedral, river and great restaurants. IDEAL.

IDEAL.

Comparing the money I paid here and money I paid to stay in a travelers hotel in UK this was excelent, the room was extremely clean and breakfast for just 9 euro was fantastic. the staff don't speak much english but they try thier best to be of help. The view I had was more of the houses opposite but I only went to my room to shower and sleep so it wasn't a problem. The hotel is very centrally located, do not tlet the rubbish skips in the street near teh hotel put ou down these may smell like hell at night but by the morning they are emptied and cleaned I definately would stay there when I go to Murcia again.
